Gillian Allen (3 rd Grade) Buffalo Elementary Flavored Rice Krispie Treats It s not made from the normal Rice Krispie Cereal - instead it s made from Fruity Pebble Cereal. 3 T Margarine 1 Pkg (10oz.) Marshmallows 6 C Fruity Pebble Cereal 1. Melt margarine over low heat 2. Add Marshmallows. Stir until melted. 3. Remove from heat. 4. Add Fruity Pebble Cereal until well coated. 5. Using Buttered Spatula - evenly press mixture into pan. 6. Cool and cut into squares. Second Place Preparation Second Place Nutrition Tatum Bagwell (3 rd Grade) Cody Elementary Fru-Gurt Parfait It s fast, tasty and full of energy. 1/2 C Honey Nut Clusters Cereal 1 Small Kiwi Fruit * 6 oz Strawberry-Banana Low-Fat Yogurt * 1. Measure out the cereal. 2. Use a knife to cut off the fuzzy brown part of the Kiwi Fruit on a cutting board. Cut the Kiwi Fruit into small pieces. 3. Spoon about ½ of the Yogurt into a drinking glass. 4. Top the Yogurt with ½ of the Kiwi Fruit and ½ (1/4 Cup) of the Cereal. Do this again with the rest of the Yogurt, Kiwi Fruit and Cereal. * Make your own parfait by using whatever kind of Yogurt and Fruit is your favorite. Blueberries, Banana and Strawberries are just some ideas for the Fruits. Andrew Phares (5 th Grade) Finalist Lake Maloney School First Place Presentation Perfect Peach Sauce with Fruit I think my recipe is the best because it doesn t take long to make, it s very healthy and it tastes wonderful. 6 oz Peach Yogurt 1 T Honey 1 T Apricot Jelly ¼ t Peach Extract (optional) ¼ t Lemon Juice 2 t Sugar 1 pint Strawberries ½ pint Blueberries 1 ea Banana Fruit: Wash Blueberries and Strawberries. Chop Strawberries and Banana into bite size pieces. Mix all Fruit together. Add sugar. Mix thoroughly. Chill Sauce: Melt jelly in microwave. Mix in Yogurt. Add honey, peach extract and lemon juice. Mix thoroughly. Chill. To Serve: Put desired amount of fruit in bowl. Spoon sauce over fruit. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Grease cookie sheets. 2. In a large bowl, cream together the Margarine, Honey, Egg and Vanilla until smooth. Combine the Whole Wheat Flour, Baking Soda and Cinnamon; Stir into the creamed mixture. Mix in Oats and Apple. 3. Drop by teaspoonful onto the prepared cookie sheets. 4. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in a preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool before moving them. Place Tortilla on a plate. It helps if it is warmed so it s more flexible. 2. Spread Peanut Butter on the Tortilla to the edge. 3. Lay the banana in the middle of the Peanut Butter covered Tortilla. 4. Dash on the Color Sprinkles (optional). 5. Roll up Tortilla to wrap around the Banana. Slice the Banana and put it on a Bamboo Skewer. 2. Stand Banana Skewer up right in a large bowl (Pasta Bowl). 3. Stick Umbrella on top of Banana Skewer. 4. Pour yogurt carefully around the Banana Skewer. 5. Then cut the strawberries in half and place them around the Banana Skewer. 6. Then put one Blueberry on each of the Strawberries. 7. And last of all sprinkle some Blueberries in the Yogurt. Eat and Enjoy!! Drain Tuna. 2. Mix Tuna, Cream Cheese and Taco Seasoning until there are not lumps. 3. Add Cheddar Cheese. 4. Lay 1 tortilla on a plate. Spread Tuna Mixture on top. 5. Add 1 tortilla and spread more mixture. 6. Finish with another tortilla. 7. Repeat Steps 4 6 on a 2 nd Plate. 8. Cut into wedges and serve.
