Bunnahabhain 12 Year Old The Bunnahabhain Single Malt Scotch whisky is from an endearing island off the west coast of Scotland called Islay, renowned the world over for its unique malts. The journey began over a century ago, close to the Margadale River, Bunnahabhain means mouth of the river from the Scots Gaelic tongue. At that time, the sea offered the easiest access to this remote place and men would battle the ocean to arrive with their barley in preparation for the creation of something wonderful. After years of maturation, the whisky would begin its journey, leaving by the same seaborne means on its adventure to foreign lands. Pronounced BÚ-na-ha-venn, this Islay Single Malt Scotch whisky is quite distinct from the many others on the island, given the wonderfully gentle taste profile for which it is known. There are two reasons for this - firstly, it has been created using lightly peated malted barley in a time-honoured distillation process and, secondly, this isolated coastal sanctuary takes advantage of the pure spring water that flows freely from underground away from the peaty moorlands. The Margadale Spring itself can be found in the mountains behind the distillery buildings and the area makes an interesting walk where the views give ample rewards to the adventurous. Tasting Notes The gentle taste of Islay. Nose: This golden dram offers a fresh and aromatic experience with a subtle whiff of smoke floating through the air. Taste: Starts with a light fruit and nut appeal that leads to a spectacular malty sweetness. Finish: Is worth the anticipation as it develops into a beautifully rich, full- bodied, lingering experience. The Margadale Spring itself can be found in the mountains behind the distillery buildings and the area makes an interesting walk where the views give ample rewards to the adventurous. Tasting Notes The gentle taste of Islay. Nose: A most welcoming release of honeyed nuts and a slightly sea-induced salty tang. Rich toffee and leathery oak aromas can be sensed upon further inspection. Taste: Beautifully balanced, like the boats at Bunnahabhain pier, the palate is influenced by mellow sherried nuts and shavings of the finest natural oak wood. Finish: The voyage ends with dry notes that are interspersed with mixed spices fading magnificently into a light salt and sherry finale. Tasting Notes A taste that is worth the wait. Nose: Sweet caramel dessert aromas beautifully entwined with subtle suggestions of oak and polished leather. Taste: The indulgence of sweet berries and cream ensure a wonderful melange of tastes and progresses into a roasted nut and malt feast, sprinkled only with the most complementing of spices to balance the profile perfectly. Finish: A soft tongue awaits you, with the sense of lingering sugar and spiced-oak flavours being dispersed delicately on the tongue Product Specifications Bunnahabhain 25 Year Old Bottle size 700mL Bottles per Case 4 For more information, please contact island2island on 02 9672 6440 info@island2island.com.au SYDNEY Unit 318 14 Lexington Drive Bella Vista NSW 2153 P 02 9672 6440 F 02 9672 6450 MELBOURNE Unit 19 Omnico Business Park 270 Ferntree Gully Road Notting Hill VIC 3168 P 03 9543 9600 F 03 9543 5067 BRISBANE Unit 32 Southpine Central 302 Southpine Road Brendale QLD 4500 P 07 3205 8221 F 07 3205 8224 PERTH Unit 12 25 Foss Street Palmyra WA 6157 P 0488 001 275 F 08 9438 1170 ADELAIDE Suite 3 80 West Lakes Blvd Seaton SA 5023 P 08 8244 2212 F 08 8244 2202
