Stanley spent 2/3 of his money on a green wig. They had the same amount of money left after that. How much money did they spend altogether? Problem 2 Hag Henrietta and Witch Wanda had a total of $182.40. They visited a toothless gypsy last week to buy some things from her. Henrietta bought a talking chicken with 4/7 of her money. Wanda bought a two-legged magic horse with 3/4 of her money. They had an equal amount of money left after that. How much money did they spend altogether?

Problem 3 Mom gave Elf Eigba and Elf Shegba a total of $64.60. Eigba bought a pair of pixie boots from ebay with 1/4 of his money. Shegba bought a magic wand from ebay with 3/5 of her money. Shegba had twice as much money as Eigba after that. How much money did they spend altogether? Problem 4 My hair was full of fleas. My brother's armpits were full of lice. We had a total of $137.70. We went to the supermarket last night. I bought a flea shampoo with 5/7 of my money. My brother bought a lice soap with 2/5 of his money. My brother had thrice as much money as me after that. How much more money than me did he have when we came back home?

After that Jim had 1/3 as much money as Jacob. How much money did Jacob have at first? Problem 6 Mother made some delicious moldy rat soup last night. She poured some of it into 2 bowls, one for Andy and one for Randy. Andy's bowl contained 11.1 liters more soup that Randy's bowl. Randy was outraged. He punched Andy on his nose. Andy burst into tears and poured 0.75 liters of soup from his bowl into Randy's bowl. Andy had 4 times as much soup as Randy after that. How much soup did Andy's bowl have at first?

Problem 7 Fred and George went to a toy shop. Fred had $112.80 more than George. George wanted to buy a toy fire truck but didn't have enough money so Fred gave him $17.40. George had 1/5 as much money as Fred after he received the money and before he paid for the truck. How much money did Fred have before they went to the shop? Problem 8 I keep two birds in my house, a canary and a robin. This morning I gave my canary, which was a greedy eater, 1.18 kg more worms than my robin. I changed my mind a short while later and transferred 90 g of worms from the canary's cage to the robin's cage. The mass of the canary's worms was 6 times as much as the robin's after that. What was the mass of the canary's worms in the beginning?

Problem 9 Mrs. Cameron has a pair of twins, Sheila and Janet. As Sheila was a good girl, the presents she received on her 11th birthday were $10.80 more than Janet's. Janet threw a tantrum so to punish her, Mrs. Cameron took one of her presents worth $3.90 and gave it to Sheila. Sheila's presents were worth thrice as much as Janet's after that. How much were Sheila's presents worth at first? Problem 10 My grandpa and grandma were balancing gold bars on their heads last night. The total mass of my grandma's gold bars was 60.1 kg more than my grandpa's. As my grandpa was suffering from a bad back, he transferred 3.7 kg of gold bars to my grandma. After that, the total mass of the gold bars he was balancing was 1/4 as heavy as my grandma's. What was the mass of the gold bars my grandma was balancing in the beginning?

Problem 11 Two knights killed a dragon and stole its hoard of cash. Sir Fetlock, who was bigger than Sir Wetlock, took $7541.80 more than Sir Wetlock. Sir Fetlock, who was also a bully, later threatened Sir Wetlock and made him part with $113.50. Sir Fetlock had 5 times as much money as poor Sir Wetlock after that. How much money did Sir Fetlock have before he took some of Sir Wetlock's money? Problem 12 Helen had $6912.10 more than Susan in the beginning. When Susan was not looking, Helen stole $307.20 from her. After that Susan had 1/6 as much money as Helen. How much money did Helen have before she stole some from Susan?

Problem 13 3 skiers were feeling very cold after skiing the whole day. They went to their cabin and made a hot pot of coffee. Jason drank 240 ml more than 1/3 of the coffee. Mary drank 150 ml more than 1/2 of the remaining coffee. Sue drank the last 360 ml of coffee. How much coffee did they drink altogether? Problem 14 I bought a huge sack of grasshoppers to feed my three pet iguanas for the month of January. My 1st iguana ate 4.8 kg more than 1/3 of the grasshoppers. My 2nd iguana ate 10.8 kg more than 1/2 of the remaining grasshoppers. My last iguana finished the rest, which was 3.6 kg. What was the mass of the grasshoppers in the sack when I first bought it?

Problem 15 Andy, Randy and Sandy spotted a leprechaun burying a pot of gold coins while they were walking in the forest. When the leprechaun left, the 3 of them rapidly dug up the gold. Andy took $510 more than 1/3 of the gold coins. Randy took $204 more than 1/2 of the remaining gold coins. Sandy took what was left after that, $136 worth of gold coins. What was the value of the gold coins in the pot in the beginning? Problem 16 My house was infested by rats so I bought a cat, a terrier and a snake to kill the rats. In a month's time, my wonderful pets had killed all the pesky rats. My cat had killed 72 more than 1/3 of the total number of rats. My terrier had killed 216 more than half of the remaining number of rats. My snake swallowed the rest, which amounted to 432. How many more rats did my cat kill than my snake?

Problem 17 Samuel had money growing on his trees. He harvested the money yesterday and put them in 3 wheelbarrows. He then realized that each wheelbarrow had a different amount of money. So Samuel first transferred 1/3 of the money from the blue wheelbarrow to the yellow wheelbarrow. Next he transferred 1/3 of the money from the yellow wheelbarrow to the green wheelbarrow. Finally he transferred 1/3 of the money from the green wheelbarrow to the blue wheelbarrow. After that he had $4200 in each wheelbarrow. How much money was there in each wheelbarrow in the beginning? Problem 18 Count Dracula went harvesting for blood in a village near his castle last night. When he returned home that night, he poured the blood he had collected into 3 jugs. He could see that each jug contained a different amount of blood. So Dracula transferred 1/4 of the blood from the 1st jug to the 2nd jug, then 1/4 of the blood from the 2nd jug to the 3rd jug, and finally from the 3rd jug to the 1st jug. He then had 5.4 liters of blood in each jug. How much blood was in each jug before the transfer?

Problem 19 Alutqu Prison had only 3 jail cells. A new prison guard came to work for the first day and saw that each cell contained a different number of prisoners. Since he was an orderly person, he first transferred 1/7 of the grumbling prisoners from the purple cell to the indigo cell. Next he transferred 1/7 of the complaining prisoners from the indigo cell to the scarlet cell. He finally transferred 1/7 of the prisoners from the scarlet cell to the purple cell. Each cell had 756 prisoners in it after that. How many prisoners were in each cell before the new prison guard arrived? Problem 20 My mother blended some cockroaches with orange juice and papaya juice and poured it into 3 huge mugs. My two brothers and I were delighted at first. However, when we saw that each mug had a different amount of juice, we began to fight for the mug with the most juice. My mother told us to keep quiet. She then poured 1/5 of the juice from the 1st mug to the 2nd mug. Next she poured 1/5 of the juice from the 2nd mug into the 3rd mug. She finally poured 1/5 of the juice from the 3rd mug into the 1st mug. Each mug had 1.92 liters of juice after that. How much juice was in each mug initially?
