Olympic Club Brewfest 2015 McMenamins Breweries QUEEN ANNE (SEATTLE, WA) Brewer: Brian Lawrence DANGERFIELD DUNKELWEIZEN No respect. Dunkelweizen gets no respect. Well, we re looking to change that. This traditional German dark wheat combines the finest malts with a Weihenstephan yeast strain and excellent noble hops to produce what we hope will be a beer that turns things around for this often overlooked style. Malts: Pilsen, White Wheat, Midnight Wheat, Munich, C- 60 Hops: Tettnanger OG: 1.048 TG: 1.012 ABV: 4.64% IBU: 12 SRM: 21 MILL CREEK (MILL CREEK, WA) Brewer: Charlton Fulton CAIRNGORM S COURAGE (WHISKEY BARREL- AGED) This strong scotch ale is named after the Cairngorms mountain range in the Highlands of Scotland. The Cairngorms were once referred to as the red hills. Like the Cairngorms mountain range, Cairngorm s Courage is a big and potentially dangerous trek through a range of reddish hues. This malt- forward brew has just enough hop bitterness to counter the heavy malt sweetness and the addition of peat- smoked malt gives it subtle scotch smokiness for extra bite. The final touch of aging this fine brew in whiskey barrels gives it heady flavors of oak, vanilla, caramel, and a slight leather and tobacco aroma. The finishing sweetness and high alcohol content will give any worthy explorer the courage and energy to climb the Cairngorms. Malts: Marris Otter Pale Malt, U.S. Pale Malt, Flaked Barley, Oat Malt, Special Aromatic Malt, Roasted Barley, Chocolate Malt, Peat Smoked Malt Hops: Nugget, U.S. Goldings OG: 1.076 TG: 1.008 ABV: 8.8% IBU: 22 SRM: 17 SIX ARMS (SEATTLE, WA) Brewer: Kyle Jungck SIX ARMS SMaSH IPA This beer is an experiment in simplicity. Using just a Single Malt and Single Hop, this SMaSH IPA is made entirely of Golden Promise malt and Centennial hops. A true indicator of the versatility of the centennial hop, this beer showcases the wonderful floral and citrus flavors and aromas that have become commonplace for American IPAs. Malts: Golden Promise Hops: Centennial OG: 1.060 TG: 1.011 ABV: 6.32% IBU: 55

SPAR CAFÉ (OLYMPIA, WA) Brewer: Kyle Jungck WAITING FOR SUMMER RASPBERRY PORTER Brewed to hold over the fruity beer lover during the dreary Olympia spring, the bright fruit & rich dark porter makes for the perfect pint! Raspberries commonly seen in McMenamins much- loved Ruby Ale take on a new flavor when paired with the chocolaty goodness of the porter. Malts: Pale 2- row, C- 40, Midnight Wheat, Chocolate Hops: Goldings OG: 1.055 TG: 1.014 ABV: 5.29% IBU: 37 OLYMPIC CLUB (CENTRALIA, WA) Brewer: Kyle Jungck SMOOTH OPERATOR OATMEAL STOUT A simple sip of this beer will indicate its intention. Heavy rich and delicious flavors of roasted coffee with a hint of toffee will coat your palate, leaving it demanding more. Malts: Pale 2- row, Flaked Oats, C- 80, Roast Barley Hops: Goldings OG: 1.055 TG: 1.016 ABV: 5.03% IBU: 28 MCMENAMINS ON THE COLUMBIA (VANCOUVER, WA) Brewer: Jesse Grover SAISON AMER Saison is a classic French and Belgian style Farmhouse Ale, which is brewed during the winter months and consumed in the hot summertime. This version is for the spring months and is slightly more bitter with a fuller mouthfeel than its summer counterpart. This is a celebration between two beer territories. The French yeast is combined with Northwest hops to create a unique, fruity aroma and a subtle spiced flavor. The cloudy orange color balances and supports the hop bitterness while still being refreshing. Enjoy the complexity of this world brew while sitting in our damp climate but being transported to the open farm fields of Belgium one sip at a time. Cheers! Malts: Pilsen, White Wheat, Munich, Crystal 75L, Premium 2- Row Hops: Horizon, Chinook, Centennial, Mosaic OG: 1.058 TG: 1.008 ABV: 6.45% IBU: 59 SRM: 7 EAST VANCOUVER (VANCOUVER, WA) Brewer: Tega Chijavadze LIGHT MY FIRE You know that it would be untrue. You know that I would be a liar, if I were to say to you, that we couldn t get much higher with this lager. Silky smooth up front, with flavors of caramel, warm bread and notes of smoke toward the finish. This brew has waited out winter to set your night on fire this spring. So don t be shy- - grab a pint, feel the love and come on baby, light my fire! Malts: Best Heidelberg, Dark and Light Munich, Aromatic, Acidulated malt, Baird s Roast Hops: Perle, Tettnanger OG: 1.054 TG: 1.011 ABV: 5.5% IBU: 22 SRM: 18

EDGEFIELD BREWERY (TROUTDALE, OR) Brewers: Nathan Whitney, Bruce Loux, Will Gaither, Mark Harris WHITE RABBIT PILSNER Venture down the rabbit hole with this white rabbit and you ll find a light- bodied, clean flavored lager loaded with great hop aroma. The grassy, spicy hop resins from Sterling and Tettnanger hops shine through the Pilsner malt while the Bohemian lager yeast used to ferment this cousin of the black rabbit porter contributes a clean ester profile. When navigating a full- looking glass of white rabbit, it s best to begin at the beginning and go on til you come to the end, then stop or get another. Malts: Superior Pilsen, Vienna, Carapils Hops: Sterling, Tettnanger OG: 1.052 TG: 1.011 ABV: 5.29% IBU: 39 SRM: 3 Guest Breweries MT TABOR BREWING (VANCOUVER, WA) SIMCOE SMaSH The third installment in our continuous Single Malt and Single Hop series, putting all the focus on the Hop. The Simcoe SMaSH brings forth the passion fruit, pine, earth and citrus characteristics of the Simcoe Hop. ABV: 5.3% IBU: 35 11TH AVE PILSNER An Old World- style Pilsner using just Pilsner malt and Hallertauer hops. Extensive lagering with lots of patience gives this beer a nice crisp, clean finish. ABV: 5.4% IBU: 40 LOOWIT BREWING COMPANY (VANCOUVER, WA) FLAWLESS VICTORY IPA The IPA of choice for the unscathed and senselessly brutal champion on- the- go. Enjoy this beer while standing tall and defiant above the vanquished. Triumphant hop aroma and bitterness are balanced by bold malt creating a venerable IPA champion of the people. ABV: 7.5% IBU: 90+ DUBBEL FLAGON ABBEY ALE A Belgian- style dubbel brewed using traditional methods- - even fermented in horizontal fermenters. This dubbel is smooth with pleasant esters and a clean almost lager- like finish. ABV: 8.1% IBU: 18 HEATHEN BREWING COMPANY (VANCOUVER, WA) TRANSCEND IPA This bright, bold IPA is bursting with citrus and grapefruit aroma. The first sip reveals a silky smooth body, while bold pine notes melt into subtle caramel flavors of crystal malt. This is a gateway beer gracefully bitter enough for hopheads, but still balanced to convert the masses to the hops side. Malt: 2- Row, Munich, CaraPils, Vienna, Caramel Hops: Warrior, Simcoe, Citra

HIGHLAND CHARGE WEE HEAVY Big brother to our Rim fire Scottish Export 80/-, this troublesome Scottish ale packs a big malty nose with light caramel and toffee notes. Balancing the full- on malt assault is a subtle hint of black cherry just to try and trick your tastebuds. Malt: 2- Row, Red Wheat, Munich, Special B, Black Malt, Chocolate Hops: Willamette, Hallertauer DICK S BREWING COMPANY (CENTRALIA, WA) WORKING MAN S BROWN A combination of two types of sweet caramel malt, lightly roasted biscuit malt, and victory malt lend depth, richness and flavor. We also add highly roasted chocolate malt, giving the beer its wonderful reddish- brown color. Magnum hops give the Working Man s Brown Ale a clean and balanced bitterness. Mt. Hood hops are added at the end of the boil for excellent flavor and aroma. ABV: 5.5% IBU: 15 Tom s Black Rye IPA It was with great pleasure to announce this year s Beer for a Cure Winner Tom Rzadski! His winning recipe was a unanimous decision in the final judging. A Black IPA hopped throughout with Amarillo, Citra and Cascade, this beer balances nicely with heavy additions of Midnight Wheat and caramel malts. Congrats to Tom! ABV: 7.5% IBU: 60 FISH BREWING COMPANY (OLYMPIA, WA) CHOCOLATE STOUT Oatmeal Stout aged on TCHO Ghanaian cocoa nibs. Chocolate undertones bring a vibrant and creamy cocoa and coffee balance to this beer. Medium body with a creamy finish. ABV: 6.4% IBU: 45 OAKED PORTER Our traditional porter aged on American oak barrels for 4 months. The chocolate creaminess of the porter melds perfectly with the slight oak and light char characteristics of the barrel. The result is a well- rounded, woodsy flavor and finish. ABV: 6.0% FREMONT BREWING COMPANY (SEATTLE, WA) INTERURBAN IPA Interurban India Pale Ale offers the adventurous beer lover a warm embrace of roasted pale malt swirled with a hand- selected blend of flavor malts and filled with the rich spice of Chinook, Centennial, and Amarillo hops. ABV: 6.2% IBU: 80 SUMMER ALE Tangerine flower in a glass, endless days distilled into nectar of barley and hops. One grain, one hop. Simplicity yet, so much more. ABV: 5.2% IBU: 45

DIAMOND KNOT CRAFT BREWING COMPANY (MULKITEO, WA) IPA Our IPA is hop- forward with aromas of grapefruit and cedar as well as a resinous bitterness imparted by additions of Galena and Columbus hops. A simple but expertly designed grain bill complements the hops by imparting subtle caramel and malt characters. ABV: 6.2% IBU: 40 BLONDE ALE With surprising complexity for such a light beer, the Blonde owes its depth to a diverse grain bill that creates a wonderful cereal- like malt character, while the Hallertauer hops lend just a touch of spicy bitterness. ABV: 4.2% IBU: 13 ELLIOTT BAY BREWING COMPANY (BURIEN, WA) HELLMOUTH IMPERIAL IPA This style is characterized by floral and citrus- like hop varieties used to produce high hop bitterness, flavor and aroma. Moderate fruity esters from warmer fermentation with a medium body. HELLMOUTH - a focal point which serves as a portal between earth and Hell. The Hellmouth attracts demons and other supernatural creatures, becoming a hot spot for supernatural activity. Malts: Organic Pale, Organic Munich, Organic Wheat, Organic Crystal Hops: Columbus, Chinook, Simcoe, Amarillo Dry- hopped: Chinook, Amarillo, Simcoe OG: 16.6 P ABV: 7.1% IBU: 100 VIETNAMESE COFFEE STOUT (ORGANIC) Hops do not dominate this style. Instead a smooth creaminess lingers as a result of the use of flaked oats in the mash. Part of the bitter character of this beer comes from the roasted barley and infusion of Vietnamese Coffee. Rich, robust, and silky smooth, our stout sports a malty aroma and mild bitterness. Stouts are black ales that owe their character to roasted barley. They originated from England, Ireland, Russia, and Scandinavia and are found in "dry"(guinness), "sweet," 'imperial," and "oatmeal" varieties. Our stout is most like an oatmeal stout. Most stout, aside from the "imperial" type, are not the thick, syrupy, high- alcohol beers that many people believe them to be. Malts: Organic Pale, Organic Roast, Organic Caramel, Organic Chocolate, Organic Black, Organic Flaked Oats Hops: Ahtanum, Cascade OG: 16 P ABV: 6.3% IBU: 32 SCUTTLEBUTT BREWING COMPANY (EVERETT, WA) SCUTTLEBUTT'S 777 Light in body but heavy in strength of alcohol, Scuttlebutt's Tripel 7 is an honest model of deception in the finest Belgian tradition. Delicate clove and white pear flavors are evident when the beer is young; with a year or two of age, complex apricot flavors prevail. ABV: 9.0% IBU: 10 SCUTTLEBUTT'S JAVA PEACH PAN GALACTIC GARGLE BLASTER ALE

Fans of Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy know what this is about. This beer finds a quaffable balance between coffee, fruit and beer, however the character Zaphod Beeblebrox advises never to drink more than two. The effects of the drink as described in the book are: "After two of those babies, the dullest, most by- the- book Vogon will be up on the bar in stilettos, yodeling mountain shanties and swearing he's the king of the Gray Binding Fiefdoms of Saxaquine" Be careful...no one wants to see a Vogon in stilettos. ABV: 4.8% IBU: 17 RED OX BREWING COMPANY (TIGARD, OR) SUNPORCH PALE ALE Our most popular beer- - light, crisp, citrusy and well- balanced for all beer drinkers. ABV: 5.2% DUBBA BUBBA IMPERIAL STOUT Big, thick, rich and black. ABV: 8.2% Ciders EDGEFIELD WINERY (TROUTDALE, OR) EDGEFIELD HARD CIDER Pale yellow gold, Edgefield Hard Cider has aromas of fresh apple, apple skin and apple pie spices. Lively on the tongue, fresh apple flavor dominates with hints of pear and honey. Crisp and refreshing, the sweetness in this semi- sweet cider is balanced by the tartness. ABV: 6.8% EDGEFIELD POMEGRANATE CIDER Our pomegranate cider is crafted with those unexpectedly gorgeous winter sunny days and the warming weather in mind. The tartness of the pomegranate is balanced with the crispness and sweetness of the apple, making for a refreshing quaff, rain or shine. ABV: 6.5% SPIRE MOUNTAIN DRAFT CIDER (OLYMPIA, WA) SPIRE MOUNTAIN DARK & DRY APPLE CIDER Assertive tartness pleasingly balanced by hints of caramel with a dry finish.
