AGRICULTURE-HORTICULTURE Fruits & Vegetables Building E-1 BRENDA TRANTHAM, Superintendent The quality desired in agricultural and horticulture exhibits is the quality that brings the best financial return in the commercial market. Exhibits must be at the stage of ripeness required by Section 42513 of the California Food and Agricultural Code to be considered for an award. SECTION 42513: Mature the stage of ripeness which will insure the completion of the ripening process to a degree, which will insure palatability, after the removal of the product from the tree, plant or vine. SECTION 42515: Over ripe means having an advanced state or maturity, which causes the product to be undesirable for human consumption in a fresh state. RULES FOR AGRICULTURE-HORTICULTURE 1. Enter online at the fair s website www.stancofair.com If an Exhibitor submits their entries using the Fair s paper entry form, a $4.00 processing fee will apply. 2. Entries must have been grown by the exhibitors within the last year. 3. In order to be eligible for any award, the specific variety of a product and the stage of ripeness must be adequately and correctly labeled before the receiving date for entries. 4. Substitutions may be made within divisions only, from one class to another. 5.
