Bremen Elementary-Middle School Parent Bulletin November 17, 2017 Mutual Respect Caring School Community Great Expectations THANKSGIVING BREAK Bremen Public Schools will be closed on November 22, 23, & 24th in observance of Thanksgiving. 8TH GRADE BABY PICTURES It is time again to bring in your baby pictures for the yearbook. Please put them in an envelope with your first and last name clearly written on it and either turn them in to Mrs. Iwaniec directly or in her mailbox in the office. We would like them in by December 18th, the Monday before Christmas break. PLEASE KEEP INFORMATION CURRENT!! Please log on to your Harmony account to verify that your address, email, phone number and emergency contact information is current. You may update information through the Harmony demographic information or contact the office for assistance. It is the parent s responsibility to have correct information on file with the school. NEW BASKETBALL LEAGUE STARTING 4H registration is open! Please see the flyer attached to today s bulletin for more information. There will be a basketball league for 3rd-6th graders starting in January 2018. The plan is to have two age groups, 3rd/4th combined, and 5th/6th combined. We will practice and play on Saturday afternoons, tentatively starting on January 13th and running for 5 consecutive weeks. The league will be organized by the high school coaching staff. Elementary Dinner & A Movie Night When: Friday, November 17 th 6:30-8:45 pm Where: Elementary Cafeteria Movie: This event is sponsored by the PTO Cost: $5 Early Registration-On or before Thursday, November 16th. $7 AFTER November 16 th or at the door. Fee includes a meal (pizza, chips, drink and snack.) This event is for K-5 students only. All students attending movie night must have a signed permission slip filled out to stay. Students who prepay/register will receive a fast pass allowing them to skip the line! Be sure they bring the fast pass Friday night! This speeds up drop off. IS THERE A COST? Regular 4-H members: $15 Mini Members: FREE WHY JOIN? 4-H is a great chance for you to meet kids of all ages and participate in projects that interest you! WHO CAN JOIN? Marshall County 4-H offers both Mini and Regular 4-H! Mini 4-H is for youth in grades K-2. Youth can enroll in up to 2 mini projects and learn the basics of 4-H Regular 4-H is for youth in grades 3-12. Youth can be involved in 4-H for 10 years, and can choose as many projects as they would like from our list of over 80 projects! HOW TO JOIN? It is easy! Bremen Youth Basketball League The High School Boys and Girls basketball programs will be running a youth league this winter. We will practice and play on Saturday afternoons, and all games and practices will be held in the Bremen Middle or High school gyms. Our plan is to have 2 separate leagues: 3rd/4th Grade (Boys & Girls combined) 5th/6th Grade (Boys Only) The league will run for 5 consecutive weeks, starting on Saturday January 13 th and concluding on February 10th. The kids will be placed on teams, and each team will have a coach that will be with them for the entire season. Your child will practice with his or her team for approx. 45 mins prior to their game time each Saturday. The cost will be $20 per player.
