Our Family Spirit A family-owned collection of more than twenty historical wineries rooted in the world s most prestigious terroirs focusing on fine wines.
A humble beginning in a noble birthplace Burgundy, the birthplace of Boisset and one of the world s most historic and most iconic wine regions, where nuns and monks established the culture du vin more than one thousand years ago. The origins of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay
A family story of audacity, passion and commitment. In 1961, a young man, at the tender age of 18, decided to go into wine in the most historic wine region in the world He began by buying four appellations that he then sold to acquaintances. Three years later, with his father, he cleared a parcel of land located at Gevrey-Chambertin: Les Evocelles. This was to be the birthplace of Boisset a the beginning of a long family story.
Our Family Mission We are a family collection of historic and unique wineries bound together by a common cause: authentic, terroir-driven wines in harmony with their history, their future and the land and people essential to their existence. With more than twenty historical and prestigious wineries in the world s preeminent terroirs, including the Côte d Or, Beaujolais, Rhône Valley, California s Russian River Valley and the Napa Valley, each house retains its unique history, identity, and style, and all are united in the pursuit of fine wines expressive of their terroir. - Jean-Charles Boisset
A Family Identity One of the world s leading, luxury family-owned wine companies Collection of historical and unique wineries Each winery in the collection boasts leading positions in their individual regions, or terroirs. Each house offers a unique history, identity, and style All are united in the pursuit of superior quality, responsible viticulture and respect for history. Organic and Biodynamic Commitment Boisset is a leading proponent and practitioner of organic and Biodynamic farming at each of its estates. Biodynamic farming stimulates biodiversity, treating the vineyard as a self-contained eco-system to foster a natural balance with the earth, the vine, and the people caring for it, to produce wines true to their source, in harmony with and expressive of their unique site.
Our Family Heritage: Centuries of Shared Tradition Since the first vineyards of Domaine de la Vougeraie were planted in Burgundy in 1096, Boisset s wineries have shared almost 17 centuries of shared winemaking passion.

More than anyone I have met in the last 40 years watching this industry, Jean-Charles Boisset has the passion for great wine and the vision few around him see and he has the theatricality to unabashedly display this passion in what might seem to be outrageous ways. Top Wine Stories of 2011 Jean-Charles Boisset You can t pick up a wine publication without reading the latest from the charming Frenchman: First, he bought DeLoach in Sonoma County, then sleepy Raymond Vineyards here and turned it in to a top visitor attraction. Then he bought venerable Buena Vista Winery in Sonoma and is restoring its luster and highlighting its heritage.
