Friday, July 6th - Our Diabetes Workshop continues each Friday in July beginning at 9:00am. Then enjoy a delicious Birthday Lunch at 11:30am. Join us in wishing everyone born in July a very Happy Birthday!! Seniors Night Out - Tuesday, July 10th- we ll leave the Defiance Center at 4:00pm and enjoy a delicious supper at Richards in Auburn. Seating is limited, so call Dawn to make your reservation after July 1st - 419-782-3233. Wednesday, July 11th - we ll have a speaker provided by Genesis, Twin Rivers at 10:30am. Plan on joining us. Program provides eligible seniors, age 60 and older, a monthly package of approx. 50 pounds of USDA basic nutrient-rich food. If you have questions or wish to apply for the commodities, contact Ginny at 419-782-3257 The next distribution date is Wed., July 25th 1:00 pm -2:30 pm. July Vegetable Blends Below is this list of the delicious vegetable blends we ll be using in our July meals - enjoy! Fiesta Blend - broccoli, carrots, white beans, kidney beans, garbanzo beans, Italian beans and red bell peppers. Italian Blend - carrots, cauliflower, zucchini, Italian beans, baby lima beans and red bell peppers. Key West Blend- green beans, carrots and red peppers Oriental Blend - green beans, broccoli, onions and mushrooms Riviera Blend - green beans, wax beans and baby carrots Each participant may determine what they can comfortably contribute toward the cost of a meal. No senior adult will be denied a nutrition service due to inability to contribute. Our suggested donation for a lunch is $3.00 per meal. Evening Meals and events may be more.
