Our passion for craft beer moves stateside this season, as we take our very own Californian road trip, on a quest for the ultimate in summertime refreshment For the next six weeks, Craft Beer Residency welcomes three pioneering Californian breweries Sierra Nevada, Anchor and Stone each bringing us a unique selection of keg, cask and bottled brews that encapsulate the sun-kissed enchantment of America s Golden State. Founded in the Californian cities of Chico, San Fransisco and Escondido, our three guest brewers are renowned for pushing the boundaries of craft beer brewing, combining classic traditions with innovate modern methods to produce bold, exciting, flavourful beers that have spearheaded the craft beer movement throughout the world. 2 3

WEST COAST HAZY IPA A world exclusive, made for your enjoyment this summer HAZY LITTLE THING Unfiltered, unprocessed and very tasty HAZY SESSION IPA 4.2% UNFILTERED IPA 6.7% HAZY GOLD RIPE FRUIT RICH, FRUITY AND REFRESHING ENOUGH TO WANT ANOTHER HAZY GOLD RESINOUS PINE AND CITRUS BISCUIT, SYRUP AND LIGHT FRUIT Made by the incentive winners from last year s Craft Beer Residency, this is a brand new, world exclusive to M&B. Made with five different hops and kept to a sessionable, we tweaked it with a little bit of blueberry juice and retained it s haziness, locking in all the flavour. As brewers, we get the privilege to sample our beers straight from the tanks in all their raw glory. Some beers need a little polishing to get ready to go out into the world, while others the hop-heavy, rowdy, crowd-pleasers should just be left alone. We wanted to share a brewery-only treat with you and are proud to present Hazy Little Thing, our unfiltered, unprocessed IPA, straight from the tanks and into the keg. 6 7
OTRA VEZ LIME & AGAVE GOZE A refreshing and fruity modern take on gose CALIFORNIA PALE ALE A session IPA that captures all the greatness of American beer GOSE WITH LIME AND AGAVE 4.9% SESSION IPA 4.3% LIGHT STRAW HONEY AND ZEST SLIGHTY TART WITH A FRUITY FINISH CLEAR GOLD SOFT ZESTY HOPS WELL BALANCED BETWEEN FRUIT AND GRAIN We combined the classic flavours of lime and blue agave nectar in a tart gose-style beer for the ultimate answer to the heavy heat of the day. The bright lime flavour helps wake up the palate while the mild sweetness of the agave rounds out the tangy zip of the citrus fruit. Light and refreshing, this all-new Otra Vez will have you calling for another round. From the peaks of the Sierra Nevada to the Pacifc beach front, California IPA is as enjoyable as the Golden State itself. This session IPA is golden in colour, easy drinking and full of citrusy and piney hop flavour. 8 9
SOUTHERN GOTHIC PILSNER An unfiltered take on the world s favourite beer style HOP BULLET DOUBLE IPA Extreme brewing from California UNFILTERED PILSNER 5.2% DOUBLE IPA 8.0% HAZY GOLD SPICY, FLORAL NOBLE HOPS CRISP AND HOPPY WITH SOME PALE MALT TO BALANCE Clear straw colour with a small, wispy white head of sticky foam. Classic Pils aromas produced by spicy, floral noble hops and cereallike grain. The flavour is crisp and hoppy with some pale malt to balance, alongside leafy grassiness and mild lemony citrus. Lightbodied but fluffed up slightly by the carbonation to create a clean, moderately bitter brew. AMBER INTENSE PINE AND GRAPEFRUIT MALT SWEETNESS, HIGH BITTERNESS AND LOADS OF AROMA Hops are the name of the game with a double IPA, but we knew we had to take it one step further. With Hop Bullet, we re using a new technique, hitting the beer with a double-barrelled slug of Magnum hops and lupulin dust pure, concentrated hop flavour directly into the tank to emphasise the intense pine and citrus flavours of classic West Coast hops. 10 11
HOP HUNTER An innovative beer to give a fresh hop hit all year round HOPTIMUM A huge triple IPA IPA 6.2% TRIPLE IPA 9.6% LIGHT AMBER SOFT RIPE FRUIT SWEET BERRY AND LIGHT FRUITS Hop Hunter IPA harnesses the complex flavours of just-picked hops through an all-new method of using steam to distil wet hops before they even leave the fields. This revolutionary technique captures and intensifies the natural flavours, creating a unique and intensely aromatic beer. Our custom process gathers pure hop oil which, when combined with traditional whole-cone hops in the brew kettle, makes for an incredible IPA experience. GOLDEN INTENSE CITRUS PINE AND TREACLE A HUGE FLAVOUR ENCOMPASSING BITTERNESS AND SWEETNESS Our brewers selected the finest, most flavourful hops, pushed them beyond their limits and forged them into this all-new triple IPA. This reimagined Hoptimum is our hoppiest beer yet, providing a blend of tropical and citrus hop aroma that delivers a refined yet aggressive character. 12 13
OVILA WHITE ALE Sierra Nevada take on a Belgian style WEST COAST HAZY IPA (CASK) A world exclusive, made for your enjoyment this summer BELGIAN WHITE ALE 5.3% HAZY SESSION IPA 4.2% HAZY BLONDE ORANGE PEEL, CORIANDER FUNKY, FRUITY AND COMPLEX HAZY GOLD RIPE FRUIT RICH, FRUITY AND REFRESHING ENOUGH TO WANT ANOTHER The monks at the Abbey of New Clairvaux hold themselves to high standards. So when they challenged us to create a beer that transcends all others, our brewers blended Old World tradition with modernday mastery to deliver the perfect expression of a Belgian witbier, worthy of a goblet but comfortable in a pint. CALIFORNIA LAGER California s first genuine lager, reborn ANCHOR LIBERTY ALE The beer that started the craft beer revolution CRAFT LAGER 4.9% PALE ALE 5.9% GOLDEN SUBTLE PINE, LIGHT MALT CLEAN, SUBTLE CITRUS BRIGHT GOLDEN CITRUS, PINEY HOPS HOP FORWARDNESS, REFRESHING A crisp golden craft lager, with citrusy, piney hops balanced by bready malt. It has smooth and slightly dry back-end bitterness, balanced by just a hint of sweetness. It s light enough to be sessionable, but has enough flavour to remain interesting on the palate. A classic pale ale with crisp, fresh citrus and piney evergreen aromas of Cascade hops. Subtle yeast flavour followed by hopforward bitterness and a touch of malty toasted bread. An effervescent brew with a medium-light body. 18 19
BLACKBERRY DAZE IPA A funky fusion of rich earth and ripe fruit LIBERTY IPA A modern twist on a craft classic FRUIT IPA 6.5% AMERICAN IPA 6.3% BLUSH PINK HUE FRESH BERRIES, PEACHES, HERBAL NOTES TART BERRIES, ASSERTIVE HOPS BRIGHT STRAW DANK PINE, BOLD CITRUS CRISP HOP FORWARDNESS This brew is a synergistic union of blackberries and hops. The result is a funky combination of rich earth and ripe fruit combined with hop bitterness and blackberry tartness. Alluringly pink in colour with aromas up front, sublimely intense flavours and a refreshingly dryish finish. Crisp and refreshing American style IPA, bursting with fresh pine and juicy citrus hops. The taste provides assertive bitterness with hints of a light biscuit malt base and a smooth, medium-bodied dry finish. 20 21
MANGO WHEAT A crisply refreshing, tropically aromatic golden mango ale BLOOD ORANGE BLONDE A blonde ale made with juicy, tart blood oranges FRUIT WHEAT ALE 4.5% FRUIT BLONDE ALE 4.5% PALE HAZY GOLDEN HUE TROPICAL STONE FRUIT PALE BLONDE JUICY CITRUS TANGY CITRUS TARTNESS SOFT RIPENED MANGO A golden wheat ale with a blast of tropical fruit flavour including mango, apricot and citrus. It opens with sweet fruit but finishes dry. Perfectly paired with a warm afternoon in the sunshine. A light and refreshing blonde ale with juicy, blood orange tartness. The taste provides tangy citrus, faintly sweet malt and honey notes with pithy, dry orange peel bitterness at the back end. It s light in body and easy-drinking. 22 23
SAN FRANPSYCHO IPA A juicy summertime brew ANCHOR STEAM BEER An American original since 1896 IPA 6.3% CALIFORNIA COMMON 4.9% HAZY GOLDEN STRAW PEACH, APRICOT, PINEAPPLE SLIGHTLY SWEET, FRUITY HOPS A juicy IPA with stone fruit-forward hoppiness and a slightly sweet finish. It has aromas of peach, apricot and pineapple mixed with a bit of funky dank. The flavour has a slightly sweet element to it as a result of a mild Belgian complexity from the yeast. It has a creamy and smooth, mildly effervescent mouthfeel. BRIGHT COPPER LIGHT MALT, MILD HOPS SMOOTH, TOUCH OF CARAMEL, CRISP FINISH The name Steam Beer dates back to the gold rush era when beer was brewed under primitive conditions without the use of refrigeration steam would rise from the cooling beer during fermentation. Its rich caramel maltiness is perfectly balanced by crisp, bright hops. A smooth and velvety mouthfeel with lively bubbles, a lingering sweetness and a mellow yet bitter finish. 24 25
BREWERS PALE ALE An ever-evolving recipe creating easy drinking, hop-forward brews OLD FOGHORN BARLEY WINE The first modern American barley wine PALE ALE 5.3% BARLEY WINE 8-10% SLIGHTLY HAZY STRAW GRAPEFRUIT, CITRUS, PINEY HOPS QUAFFABLE, COMPLEX HOP FLAVOUR RUBY, DEEP COPPER DRIED FRUIT, MOLASSES, SHERRY VISCOUS, MOLASSES, SATIATING A bright and fruity American pale ale bursting with hop aroma and flavour. This brew features the Nelson Hop Blend, providing brilliant aromas of grapefruit, passion fruit, citrus peels and dank pine. It finishes dry with a balanced drinkability. This traditional English style barley wine has aromas of dried fruit, molasses and sherry, with warming alcohol and slight syrupiness on the taste. It is thick, full and viscous with lingering heat on the palate. 26 27
STONE TANGERINE EXPRESS IPA An IPA packed with whole tangerine and pineapple WELCOME TO CALIFORNIA REPUBLIC A classic steam beer with grapefruit and citrus flavours FRUIT IPA 6.7% CALIFORNIA STEAM BEER 4.5% GOLDEN ORANGE, PINEAPPLE, TROPICAL ORANGE PITH, RESINOUS, BITTER CLEAR, GOLDEN FLORAL, CITRUS, SPICY CITRUS AND GRAPEFRUIT TONES This ain t no just-add-juice approach. This one is for adults. We use bountiful whole tangerine purée, which brings pithy, crisp bitterness to the citrus flavour. In addition to the complexities of the tangerine the likes of which you can only get by using the whole fruit we judiciously employ just a hint of whole pineapple for a backnote. Hailing from the USA s West Coast, steam beer is a classic craft beer style which uses lager yeast but is fermented at higher temperatures than usual to give a fruitier finish. We hopped this with Cascade, the hop that ignited the US Craft Beer scene in the 1980s and continues to be one of our favourite hops today. Cascade gives a nice crisp bitterness accompanied with flavours and aromas of grapefruit and other citrus fruits. A crisp classic! 28 29
CALIFORNIA SUN A West Coast citrus IPA with floral notes SAN FRANCISCO QUAD HOPPED AMERICAN IPA American IPA with citrus hops followed by malty flavours WEST COAST SESSION IPA 4.5% AMERICAN IPA 5.5% BURNT GOLD BISCUIT MALT, HONEY AND ORANGE ZEST CITRUS BITTERNESS, DRY FINISH DEEP GOLD CITRUS, TROPICAL AND GREEN PEPPER MALT, HOPS, BITTER California Sun is a West Coast session IPA, built for easy drinking. Classic hop flavours of pine, resin and citrus fruit dominate over chewy malt with a tantalising bitter, dry finish. Deep gold American style IPA, dry-hopped, producing a citrus and tropical fruit aroma with a hint of green pepper. This is followed by robust malt and hops on the palate, continuing into a long-lasting finish. 30 31
