TERRAPIN TIMES ARNOLD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL National Blue Ribbon School DECEMBER 2017 Dear Parents & Guardians, PRINCIPAL S LETTER A huge thank you goes to our PTA for providing our Artist Residency this month. Kevin Martin and the Rockcreek Steel Drums will perform an assembly for students and work directly with third and fourth grade students on how to play the drums. In addition, the PTA is hosting Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 2 nd from 9:00am to 11:30am. If you have not attended before, this is a wonderful community event. Breakfast is served and children can shop for family and friends in a store just for them. Children will also have the opportunity to visit with Santa and get a picture with him. Communication is essential to Arnold Elementary excellence. On Friday, December 8 th from 7:45am- 9:00am you are invited to a Principal s Coffee and Tea. Please join me for a hot cup of coffee or tea and a time to talk. I look forward to hearing your ideas, thoughts, and concerns. If this time does not work, feel free to call or stop by the office for a time that is more convenient. This is also a Parent Teacher Conference Day. Arnold students in band, strings, and chorus are working hard to prepare for the Winter Concert on Thursday, December 14 th at 6:30pm at the Severn River Middle School cafeteria. We hope you can join us for this seasonal celebration. As we wrap up the calendar year, remember our last day of school for December will be Friday, December 22 nd. Arnold Elementary and Severn River Middle School are collecting toys for The Sharing Foundation this holiday season. The Sharing Foundation is a nonprofit organization that assists the working poor in Anne Arundel County to provide holiday gifts for their children. We have put a collection bin in our school lobby from now until the winter break to collect new, unwrapped toys, books for all ages, and mittens for these children. This organization helps many of our own school and community members so your donations are staying local. Happy Holidays!
