This inaugural tasting event takes place Saturday, April 29, between noon and 6pm at the Southridge Sports and Events Complex. Thirty-six Washington state breweries will be on hand with knowledgeable owners, brewers, or brewery representatives serving up these creative and delicious local brews. The commission's inaugural Tri-Cities Craft Beer Festival hopes to duplicate the success of the Spokane, Bremerton, Tacoma, and Everett tasting festivals which have grown to average better than 3,000 attendees per event over the last several years. Tasting festivals are a great marketing tool for the state's breweries and the primary source of income for the Washington Beer Commission. All event proceeds get reinvested in the marketing and promotion of Washington state craft beer and its 353 statewide breweries.
