I have beautiful, red roses The kids are really happy. 1. Circle the adjectives below. 2. Write a synonym for three of the adjectives you find. Describe it as precisely as possible. Use a lot of adjectives. Things you could write about: Its colour. How big it is. Special body parts. Does it have an extra head? Four eyes? Tentacles? Wings? How it attacks. Does it look like something cute so that you want to pet it, before it attacks? Does it climb up in a tree and wait? Does it have an arm that can stretch? Where it lives. Under your bed? On the beach? In the school sports hall? What it eats. Only sweets? Blood from elephants? Rotten eggs? How to defeat it. Is it afraid of water? Does it melt in the sun? When you write a text, think about these things: Paragraphs - for example: write about your monster s appearance in one paragraph. Make sure you have a beginning, middle and an end. Make sure your reader can easily understand what your monster looks like and how it behaves, just by reading your text.

Cut out the pictures below and place them in the correct order together with the text on the following page:

The next Wednesday, Jeremy and Ruth were out back again. What are you two doing? said a familiar, nasty voice. It was followed by a short man in big, thick glasses. Jez, Jez, quick, do something! cried Ruth, holding on to Johnson s arm. The container was open and something was sticking out, waving like a snake. It was hard to see in the light, but it seemed to be searching for something. Ruth, come out the back! It s trying to get out! he whispered. She took a deep breath, got into her starting position, then took one, two, three steps. She flew through the air, before she dived on top of the container landed on her left hand and closed the container door with her right. Well, you two can go home now. I ll give you an extra hour pay! Noe I m going to phone that container company. It did stink though. He shut the lid of the container and waved his hand in front of his nose. The Friday night was dark, but out at the back of Buyitall Supermarket there was just enough light for Jeremy and Ruth to see what they were doing. Taste metal, baby! Jeremy went down on one knee and shot staples into the vegetable arm. Yes. Right. Thanks for telling that. Now get back to work, both of you. He said he didn t think Ruth could do a head over heels and throw at the same time, but she did it and got the food into the container twice. Jeremy picked up a box of bananas and began to drop them into the container. He counted the bumps as they dropped inside.
