One sip of Tequila Tristan transports you to the place where men work the fields of ranches in the middle of green hills and unlimited freedom. 4 5
The sun sets in Poncitlán, a small rural town in Jalisco, two young men have gathered with a bottle of tequila around a wooden table on the porch of a ranch. Worn out shirts, dirty jeans, muddy boots. What an incredible feeling for two cousins used to a hectic city life. That was the moment when Juan de la Mora Ramirez and Tristram Borgmann Arias decided to create their own Tequila Brand and stay in this breath taking environment. It was the beginning of a fascinating adventure... 6 7
The Name We were looking for a name which would be easy to pronounce in different languages, but at the same time able to transmit our values... says Tristram Before starting a Tequila company we had to register a trademark. We started to look for suitable names. For weeks we were checking names at the Mexican Institute of Industrial Properties in order to find one available. Trademarks like Hacienda Arias or Andares were already taken. Finally we agreed on "Tristan". Tristan (Welsh origin) symbolizes chivalry, tradition, respect and success. 8 9
The Logo We want to follow our ancestors footsteps, who worked these fields for the last centuries and to continue with our family tradition... says Juan Tequila Tristan s logo was designed by Spanish Architect Susana Ainsa Sanz following the architecture of a typical farm house of the colonial period (16th to 18th centuries). Those houses were part of extensive privately owned land or latifundiums. Our ancestors were large land owners around Poncitlán. Poncitlán has a bit more than 40.000 inhabitants and the majority are related. 10 11
The Bottle Tequila Tristan s bottle looks more like a bottle of wine than a typical bottle of spirits. We decided to use hand-blown artisan glass bottles made in Tonala. Tonala is famous for their glass making. It was important to involve artisans from the region for our product to emphasize our Mexican culture. 12
The Our label is simple and elegant. We use paper similar to rare wine bottles. Each bottle comes with a Certification of Hand Bottling. We produce small batches securing our high quality standards. 14
The Tequila The origin of Tequila goes back thousands of years to the time when Aztecs were drinking Pulque, a fermented Agave juice. Pulque was known as the wine of the gods. 16 17
Later on with the invasion of Spanish Conquistadores Pulque was distilled bringing it closer to the Tequila we know today. 18 19
We started distilling in the kitchen of our uncle s Distillery Tequila Zapotlan del Rey in 2012. It would take more than a year before we were satisfied with the results. Therefore we launched a smooth sipping Tequila 100% de Agave by end of 2013. Beginning of 2015 we moved to a new distillery improving our production process and offering a better service to our selected clientèle worldwide. 20 21
