Inspiring quotes No one can make you feel inferior without your consent. Eleanor Roosevelt Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself. George Bernard Shaw When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives mean the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares. Henri J.M Nouwen Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions. Dalai Lama XIV UPDATE ON RAMP RESURFACING The date for the resurfacing is tentatively scheduled for July. When the date and time has been confirmed, posters will be distributed to let you know when it will happen. If you use the parkade, you will have to find a temporary place to park during this time. COMMUNITY MOBILE MARKET The Community Mobile Market is a program supported by the City of Calgary and the Leftovers Foundation designed to bring fresh fruit and produce to Calgarians at discounted prices. The upcoming dates are July 10 & 24, Aug 7 & 21, Sept 4 and 18 at 6:30pm, at the corner of 8th Street and 3rd Avenue S.W. Please feel free to pull any information from their website at www.rescuefood.ca Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has. Margaret Mead 2

POEMS BY GAIL A WOMAN S BILL OF RIGHTS MY ANGEL There s an Angel in my heart She s been there from the start. She watches over me Even though we are apart. Her name is Gail Ann And even though she ran She s always been with me Loving and caring is her plan. She ll always be in my soul In her Angel role, She s taking care of me Never will she go. She s the Angel in my heart Never shall we part. I ll always feel her with me No matter where we are The Angel in my heart, Gail Ann I have the right to be treated with respect. I have the right to have and express my feelings. I have the right to have and express my opinions. I have the right to be listened to and taken seriously. I have the right to set my own priorities and make my own choices. I have the right to say NO without feeling guilty. I have the right to ask for what I want and need. I have the right to be different from what others expect me to be. I have the right to LOVE and BE LOVED. I have the right to be HAPPY AND PEACEFUL. ALCOHOL AND LOVE When two people are in love, They are like a pair of doves. Soaring over the ocean, Like in a magic potion. Between the crying and fighting, There s no time for writing. So if you want love at all, Don t mix with alcohol. God is love, And love and alcohol don t mix. 4
