OBSERVATIONS Prairifire Prairie Maid Red Jewel Sugar Tyme Marilee (WSU-Jarmin) (WSU-Jarmin) 4/29 (* = outstanding this date) Bob White* - very attractive pink-and-white tree with some medium pink buds still to open, profuse bloom, spreading habit Candymint Sargent - no buds open, dark magenta, invisible against purple-bronze leaves. Leaf color and low spreading habit add ornamental value Evereste - medium pink buds, white flowers just opening Jack* - full white bloom and fresh-looking, bright green leaves on very large impressive trees. Not for backyards! A fine park or highway landscape tree. Lancelot* - compact dwarf form very attractive, symmetrical; green leaves overshadow the white bloom somewhat. Well suited to sidewalk or courtyard plantings Louisa* - top rate for esthetics now- full of bright pink buds and pale pink flowers in weeping cascades, very profuse, light green leaves a nice contrast M.
