1 Big Rig Brewery is a locally owned brewery in Ottawa, Ontario. Working in the brewing industry for 20 years, I know our base ingredients truly matter to crafting stellar beer. It s why we source only the best malted barley, hops and yeast available. We take great pride in our creations as we reinterpret classic styles and craft emerging ones. That s why you ll find everything from our Gold Lagered Ale to our Release the Hounds Black IPA on the menu these are styles that speak both to the past and the present. We also take a lead in training the next generation of brewers, teaching them how to create beer that s free of added chemicals and preservatives the way it used to be made. O And while awards don t always matter, it s nice to be recognized for our passion. We ve been honoured to receive a number of accolades including Newcomer of the Year (2013) in Ontario, a Gold medal at the Canadian Brewing Awards and several medals from the Ontario Brewing Awards. GOLD LAGERED ALE STYLE: Golden Ale STATS: 5% alc./vol. 17 IBU Crafted with specialty ale yeast, but carefully fermented like a lager, it has a smooth body and a crisp finish. This single-hop beer is complex enough to contemplate, but easy drinking enough to simply enjoy with friends. RED LAGERED ALE STYLE: Irish Red STATS: 5.2% alc./vol. 16 IBU Pouring a light red, this beer uses crystallized barley to impart mild sweetness. The addition of oats creates a smooth body. Refreshing with a nice clean finish. ENGLISH BROWN ALE STATS: 5.2% alc./vol. 18 IBU This dark brew has a light coffee aroma that gives way to hints of chocolate. Although it s a rich, dark brown beer, it has a mild profile that makes it great gateway into dark ales. ALPHA BOMB STYLE: IPA STATS: 6.6% alc./vol. 87 IBU With this unfiltered IPA, we ve thoughtfully added a trio of hops and then dry-hopped it twice to create incredible layers of flavour from grapefruit to tropical fruit to pine. BIG BOOT Style: Hefeweizen Stats: 4.8% alc./vol. 12 IBU A classic German wheat beer, it delivers delicate flavours of vanilla, clove and mild banana. It s unfiltered and pours a hazy yellow, true to this style of beer. RELEASE THE HOUNDS Style: Black IPA Stats: 6.2% alc./vol. 72 IBU This unique beer blends the best of both worlds, pairing a big roasty character with a bold hop profile. It won Gold at both the Ontario Brewing Awards and Canadian Brewing Awards. MIDNIGHT KISSED MY COW Style: Double Chocolate Milk Stout Stats: 5.6% alc./vol. 14 IBU This stout receives a healthy dose of Belgian cocoa and chocolate barley to enliven its body. A hit of milk sugar (lactose) is added to give it a creamy mouth feel. ORANGE PEEL SESSION IPA Stats: 4.8% alc./vol. 45 IBU A refreshing session IPA, it incorporates just enough orange peel in its body to liven it up.. DOUBLE CHOCOLATE MARTINI Vodka, Crème de Cacao, and Godiva Chocolate Liqueur, shaken on ice with a chocolate drizzle. THE ROYAL APPLE Crown Royal Apple served with pineapple juice, ginger ale, a dash of Angostura Bitters and garnished with a green apple slice. THE BIG RIG MULE Kraken Rum mixed with Harvey & Vern s Ginger Beer, a splash of simple syrup and garnished with mint leaves. THE NUTTY SHIRLEY Ciroc Coconut Rum shaken with orange juice and pineapple juice, topped with grenadine, garnished with an orange slice. KIM CRAWFORD SAUVIGNON BLANC (NEW ZEALAND) STYLE - Aromatic & flavourful This sets the benchmark for New Zealand s intensely flavourful style of Sauvignon Blanc; flavors of pineapple, passion fruit, and a hint of herbaceousness; the complexities of flavour in this stunning wine are enhanced further with aromas of citrus and tropical fruit.

Located at Greenbank & Iris in the West, and at Ogilvie & Blair in the East, Big Rig offers value-priced comfort food with award-winning, all natural, craft beer from our on-site brewery at our West end location. We utilize the finest products from purveyors who we trust. These quality choices of food fare are used in our lunch/dinner and week-end only breakfasts. Hand-made, comfort food is our foundation. Each month, we have 4 seasonal house brews on tap alongside our six core beers, all of which are sure to please the palette of even the most discerning beer afficianado. The bar offers an elaborate menu of classic and signature cocktails, made with fresh fruit and herbs and our drinks menu also features a strong wine list.
