3 Directions: You are going to create your very own Revolting Recipe. Make sure that you include and label all the parts of a recipe: Title (decide if you want to create an appetizer, soup, main dish, casserole, sandwich, beverage, dessert, side dish, salad, etc.) Ingredients (remember, unit and item you need to have at least 5) Chef Name (you may make it up) Serves (remember, unit and audience) Equipment (remember, nonedible things you need you need to have at least 5) Procedure (numbered list of steps in order you need to have at least six steps in your recipe; make sure they are complete sentences) Just this once, I ll allow you to be gross if you want to. 4 For this part of our unit you will have two optional assignment opportunities. For the first one, you may copy your Revolting Recipe onto the next page so that it can be displayed in the hallway. Remember to write on only one side of the paper, as it will be hung on the wall and the back side won t be readable! However, be sure to put your name on the back so credit can be given to you! The second optional assignment opportunity is to complete the sections of the recipe on the last page.

6 Recipes Optional Assignment Name Directions: Below is an ancient recipe for a secret, delicious brew known only to the witches of Bald Mountain. For hundreds of years the witches have guarded it closely. It is only concocted for important occasions like Halloween celebrations. Although the recipe is listed below, its parts are unlabeled, and the steps mixed up by the witches to try to assure its safety. Label the parts, and number the steps in order. It is a tricky task; read carefully to catch the clues to the order. Circle the transition words. Bald Mountain Brew Serves: 6 hungry guests : 1 dozen eyes of newt 2 cups of wart water 1 fillet of fenny snake 1 fresh lizard leg 1 ½ pounds ghost butter 3 teaspoons minced frog toe 1/7 cup black cat hair ½ cup slivered bat wings 2 quarts imported Transylvanian blood : meat grinder black cooking cauldron one spider web ice caves ice cube tray silver cauldron fire pit : Add toe of frog, black cat hair, and imported blood and bring to a boil. Third, preheat an open fire to 700 degrees. Serve to guests on Halloween night. Let brew cool. Then, add ground fenny snake and lizard leg to the melted ghost butter. Next, place tray in the ice caves on Bald Mountain. Get heat source ready. After the meat is ground, melt ghost butter in the cauldron over an open fire. Just before guests arrive, add the newt-eye ice cubes. Once it s cooled, strain the brew through a spider web into the silver cauldron. Once it is boiling, bubble six hours ONLY! When brew is in the silver cauldron, sprinkle with slivered bat wings. While fire is preheating, grind the fenny snake and lizard leg. Before starting, place one newt-eye in each section of the ice cube tray. Fill sections carefully with wart water. Cook snake/lizard meat in butter for 13 minutes, before adding next three ingredients. Remove cauldron from fire.
