The transportation company is responsible for the merchandise while it is in transit to you. Do not accept delivery where there is visible damage unless the condition is noted on your copy of the freight bill and signed by the driver. In the event of concealed damage, retain all shipping cartons and merchandise. Immediately notify your carrier and the Newco Customer Service Department. 65 EXPLANATiON OF Brewer ELECTriCAL CONFigurATiONS DUAL VOLTAGE UNITS: All standard brewers built for the North American market are either 120 VAC or dual voltage (120/240 VAC). dual voltage units utilize 240 V power for the tank heating elements and 120 V power for the control components and warmer elements. dual voltage does not indicate that brewers can operate on either 120 VAC or 240 VAC. NEUTRAL: All standard brewers built for the North American market require a neutral wire. Installation without neutral may cause damage to the control components and will void brewer warranty. If neutral is not available, a step-down transformer should be installed by a qualified technician. The ground wire should never be used as a substitute for neutral. POWER CORD/WIRES: Brewers rated at 120 VAC are provided with an attached power cord with either a NEMA 15 or 20 amp plug, depending on unit rating. Standard dual voltage brewers are not supplied with a power cord unless specifically stated. A terminal block is provided within the unit for connection by a qualified technician. Unit should be connected in accordance with all applicable building/electrical codes. Brewer Construction Definitions: STYLE: Automatic brewers are connected to a water line. Pour-over brewers require water to be manually poured into the brewer. BREW OPERATIONS: Analog - The type of components that perform functions of the machine (i.e. switches and thermostat). Mechanical switches and thermostats with a capillary bulb are considered analog. Digital - Electronic switches, thermistor based temperature sensing are considered digital. All Newco timers and control boards are digital. HEATING SYSTEm: Tank Reservoir - Brewer has a hot water tank that maintains water at a set temperature. Heat Pump - Boiler system that heats water on demand and turns off after brew cycle. Flash Heater - Similar to a heat pump. Heats water on demand and turns off after brew cycle. WATER delivery: Displacement: As cold water enters tank, it displaces the hot water and delivers to spray head. Dump Valve: A solenoid valve is positioned between the spray head and tank. When initiated, the valve opens and instantly begins to deliver water to the spray head. This system relies on a probe to refill the tank. TANK SYSTEm: Closed - A tank with a lid that is typically bolted to the tank with a gasket. Open - A tank system where the tank lid is not bolted down, or is held in place with either clips or by the brewer cover. VOLTAGE: 120V - US voltage of 120V with all components operating on 120V. 120V/240V only - US voltage with the tank operating at 240V and all other components running on 120V. Dual - A field convertible voltage between 120V and 120V/240V. CABINET: Refers to the cabinet construction. Non modular - cannot be changed to accommodate different brewing vessels. Semi-Modular - can be converted to accommodate some brewing vessels and/or bases and risers can be changed to achieve different heights. ENERGY SmART: The brewer has the ability to be programmed to turn off or set back the tank temperature in periods of non use. Some models can be programmed to turn off the warmers. FLOW REGULATION: PDS - Brewer incorporates Newco s porcelain flow control that delivers precise amounts of water to the brewer regardless of water pressure fluctuation. Flow Control - Brewer incorporates traditional flow control technology. PDS valve is an available option for these systems. BACKUP POUR IN: Brewer can be utilized as a pour over brewer in case of a failure in the automated functions (control board, water supply). FAUCET: Gravity - is connected directly to the hot water tank and is non-pressurized. Coil / Pressurized - is connected directly to the incoming water line with 15 feet of coiled tubing inside tank.
