1 Gold Coast Cymbidium Growers Collector's Auction Catalog January 21, 2011 Time: 7:00 PM (Auction plants may be checked in after 4:30 PM until 6:30 PM) Auction preview from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM. Place: The San Mateo Garden Center, 605 Parkside Way, San Mateo Take the Alameda de las Pulgas exit off Highway 92. Turn south. The Garden Center is located between 26th and 28th Avenues Auction Conduct Rules: 1) No plant will be allowed into the building the night of the auction unless it is on the auction list below or is a preapproved substitute for one on the list that was damaged. 2) Labels for all auction plants will be provided to the sellers/donors when the plants are checked in at the auction. 3) If a plant carrying a minimum bid does not sell at the minimum bid stated, the seller will still be responsible to the club for 25% of the listed minimum bid. *(OPTION: If the seller so designates to the auction committee in advance, a "reverse auction" may be held on a plant failing to receive the minimum bid.) 4) Successful bids and bidders will be tracked on a projector screen. Photos of the plants (if available) will also be projected on a screen as they are presented for auction. 5) Bidders are asked not to check out until the last plant is auctioned and the auction concluded. Receipt to bidders will include a printout of their successful bids. 6) Payment to sellers and acknowledgement to donors will include a printout of each of their entries with the sales amount.
