2 Scottish Rock Garden Club 71st Seed Distribution Seed Request Applications Please complete the forms in the centre of the booklet, and send these to Neil McNulty, or order online at the SRGC website ( (About Us). The web password is on centrefold page (i). If you request seed on the paper forms, you must pay for seed by cash or cheque. If you order online you may pay online in Sterling. All seed requests must be received by January 15th seed donors and exchange helpers may choose 25 packets, non-donors 16 packets. Please follow the instructions carefully: write clearly to help us pick the items you want. The charge for the main request for all members is 5, 7, or $10 US, to cover packing, postage and administration of the exchange. We no longer need a list from US, NZ or Australian members; the computer will generate one for your request. Seed Distribution Distribution of seed starts in mid-january. First the donors main requests, then nondonors, and finally the surplus seed. Main requests will be sent out in January, but surplus requests will be sent only after all main orders have been fulfilled. Your main and surplus seed will arrive some time apart. US members must send all their paperwork with the request form (see centrefold page i) unless this was sent with your seed donation. Phytosanitary restrictions outside the EU US members should not choose any items marked with a black star. We cannot send live material to members outside the EU. This is marked in the list. About the list We cannot guarantee accuracy in naming, we rely on the donor s naming of seed for the Exchange. Remember that named cultivars and varieties rarely come true, so seed of any named variety should be considered as ex that variety. The sequence in the list is Genus: hyb/sp.: named varieties: then species: subspecies: variety: form: description. Some unknown species are offered as sp., and spp. means that there is a mixture of species of that genus. This Seed List will remain on the SRGC website for the future, so you will be able to check packet numbers in the future. Wild seed: There has been much discussion about illegal collecting of wild seeds. SRGC is not able to check every seed submission, but we have asked donors only to contribute wild-collected seed collected in accordance with the laws of the source countries and whose distribution is allowed under the terms of any permit to collect seed. The Nagoya Protocol Genetic material collected from the wild since October 12th 2014 is covered by the Nagoya Protocol, which is legally binding in the EU, including the UK. For material from signatory countries, unless there is written consent from the country of origin, 'utilization' is not permitted. Utilization includes the development of new named cultivars and hybrids as well as production of new drugs and other products. Straightforward cultivation, privately or commercially, is permitted. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, you should assume that seeds in this list do not have consent for utilization as described above. Ian and Carole Bainbridge 2
