5 Our Special Project: Sugar Shack Acres There are always a handful of dogs in our care that are unlikely to be adopted due to age or illness. Rescued from shelters, or surrendered to us these are dogs that enjoy the company of other dogs and find comfort in being with their sugar-faced companions and the devoted care of our volunteers. With a special yard and house of their own, they can come and go as they please while entertaining their human friends. We call it Sugar Shack Acres! On special days, we invite them for gentle romps in the big park or a slow-moving parade around the grounds. It is a sight to see! With your help, we will enhance their special accommodations this year. We will raise and grade the yard, add a cabana for raised and covered outdoor lounging, and give their interior area a complete makeover. We want our honored guests to live out their days in all the comforts of home and, of course, surrounded by love. Please join us in making Sugar Shack Acres the most special place it can be for these very deserving dogs!
