Today you will have free time at the Resort to do as you please maybe go for an early morning stroll on the beach or maybe take a dip in one of the many pools on location or maybe just sit out on your balcony with a cup of Joe and enjoy the scenery it is your choice! ~Lunch on Your Own~ 10:00am We will use our bus and shuttle anybody that wants to go to Broadway on the Beach (about 10 minutes away) and another stop at The Boardwalk (another 5 minutes away). Broadway on the Beach is a complex of over 150 businesses including places to shop, places to eat, places to entertain & places to play that encompass 350 acres with a lake in the center. The Boardwalk is a 1.2 mile ocean front boardwalk lined with shops, restaurants & entertainment that also includes the famed 20 ft tall Skywheel which travelers may ride if they choose. 2:00pm We will pick up travelers at Broadway on the Beach and also travelers at The Boardwalk and shuttle back to the Island Vista Resort. 3:45pm We depart for Murrells Inlet on South Myrtle Beach for dinner and an evening Sunset Cruise on the Inlet. 4:30pm Dinner this evening at The Claw House. The tour continues through the Kaminski building to the Maritime History Museum, home of the Browns Ferry Vessel. This is the oldest vessel of colonial manufacture in the United States and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Hopsewee Plantation, part of the South Carolina National Heritage Corridor, is one of the oldest historic preservations open to the public in the United States. Hopsewee has been preserved since 9

10 its construction between 1735 and Only five families have owned the plantation since it was built, and Hopsewee has remained essentially the same for almost three centuries. The original house is a classic 18 th century Colonial plantation house with its porches overlooking the North Santee River and the rice fields beyond. Built of black cypress, the home features hand-carved molding and randomwidth heart pine floors. Eighteenth and nineteenth century furnishings complement each room. Two original slave cabins and a smokehouse remain with the original plantation house. These slave cabins were used as living quarters by Hopsewee slaves and their descendents until the late 1940s.
