1 Meet Chef Keenan Handy, the father of Real California BBQ and founder of Hambone's. Born and raised in Compton, Keenan learned the art of cooking and smoking meat from his parents. With over 20 years experience as a pitmaster and restauranteur, his culinary creations have delighted the tastebuds of everyone from professional athletes to your next door neighbors. At Hambone's, we believe the difference is in the details. That's why our meat is smoked to perfection in a wood-fired barbecue pit with a secret blend of woods and spices that make our California BBQ so special. We offer three different signature BBQ sauces all of which are made in-house. We pride ourselves on both the quality and consistency of our food. 2 OUR STORY Welcome to Hambone s Bar, Grill & Smokehouse the home of real California barbecue. We believe in creating a unique dining experience designed to please and satisfy. At Hambone s we pride ourselves on using the finest quality meats. Our food is prepared for each person. That means the wood smoked meats are cut for every order. Nothing is abandoned under a heat lamp for the next customer. By the way, the pink color on the meat means that it was actually smoked with real wood in addition to our natural herbs and spices. We hope you enjoy your meal and thank you for your patronage. We appreciate you! THE SAUCES Hambone s Bar & Grill is proud to offer 3 delicious barbecue sauces made in house by Chef Keenan Handy. None of our sauces contain artificial flavors, colors or ingredients. MILD The mild sauce is what barbecue sauce should be sweet and smooth. It is the perfect accompaniment to our smoked meats a versatile sauce with lots of flavor. SPICY The spicy sauce has a savory kick that brings out the wood smoked aromas without overpowering the food. It leaves a lingering zest on the lips and tongue while experiencing the richness of the seasonings. TANGY The tangy sauce is Keenan s third creation and is quickly becoming a favorite of our clientele. It has real orange bits that fuse with the brown sugar and one or two secret ingredients that make our tangy sauce a real crowd pleaser. No refunds on take out orders that have already been made.
