7 1) The requirements for determining AQ and PQ status are fully defined in the UNIBusiness document "AACSB Qualification and Participation Guidelines". The qualification requirements are summarized in the remaining footnotes. 2) Academic qualification is determined over a rolling three year period. Academically qualified faculty must first have a terminal degree in their teaching field or substantial education in their teaching field in addition to a terminal degree. New Ph.D. faculty are considered AQ for five years after earning their terminal degree. To maintain academic qualification faculty must report a total of five maintenance/development activities over the three year period. Those five activities should occur in at least two of the three activity categories (Learning & Pedagogy, Practice, or Discipline based Research). In addition, faculty must have at least one intellectual contribution in the Discipline based Research category OR an appropriately reviewed journal article in either of the two remaining categories. Academic administrators are not held to the intellectual contribution requirement, but are expected to show a portfolio of development activities appropriate for the responsibilities of their positions. 3) For all intellectual contributions, multiple author contributions are counted the same as single author contributions; all authors receive a 1 for a given publication. These are not removed from the totals. For each faculty member on staff for the reported period, all intellectual contributions produced during the previous five year period are included even if the faculty member was not employed by the University during the entire five year period. 4) qualification is also determined over a rolling three year period. ly qualified faculty must first have significant work experience in their teaching field. A masters degree is required unless significant, executive level work experience can be shown. To maintain professional qualification faculty must report a total of five maintenance/development activities over the three year period. Those five activities should occur in at least two of the three activity categories (Learning & Pedagogy, Practice, or Discipline based Research). Faculty members fully employed outside the University are deemed professionally qualified through their on going employment and are not required to report development/maintenance activities in multiple categories. 5) Experience is defined as years of professional work experience accumulated by the faculty member during the five year time period of this report. Adjunct faculty fully employed outside the University will earn 1 unit per year. Faculty members may also be employed less than full time outside of the University; Consultation with the faculty member and Department Head establishes the value earned for any given year. Each unit is considered one development/maintenance activity. 6) Each consulting unit indicates a consulting experience. Upon consultation with the faculty member by the Department Head or Associate Dean, the experience is assessed for significance based on criteria such as extent (time) of engagement, role of consultant, and/or potential impact of consulting on organization. Consulting experiences that are deemed significant are included in these numbers. 7) Development includes editorships for books, journals, and special edition of a journal.
