1 Great achievement by SEÑA 2015 SEÑA 100-point Celebration In Tokyo March 2018, Tokyo 2015 vintage of the Chile s first icon wine SEÑA was released and awarded with 100 point by the international wine critic, James Sukling. To celebrate this great achievement, Mr. Eduardo Chadwick, Owner & President of SEÑA came to Japan to conduct the 100 Point Celebration Master Class and Gala Dinner at Grand Hyatt Tokyo on March 7, At the both events, vertical tasting of historical vintages of SEÑA was featured with detailed explanation of each vintage by Mr. Chadwick and tasting comments by guest speaker, Mr. Wataru Iwata (The first prize winner of the Japan Best Sommelier Contest 2017). <Master Class> Over 60 wine specialists including Japan s top class wine journalists and sommeliers participated in the Master Class. Following presentation by Mr. Chadwick, 6 vintages of SEÑA were tasted.

2 Outline of the Presentation by Mr. Chadwick History of Fine Wine: Wine has existed and remained a part of human culture since almost 8,000 years ago through Egyptian, Greek and Roman periods. It has also played a role in religion such as a ceremony of Catholic in the Western world. However, fine wine is a rather new category which appeared about 200 years ago. In the Mediterranean countries, wine was a daily drink for many years and it gradually became a luxury drink. In Asian countries including Japan, fine wine expanded about 50 years ago. The Bordeaux classification of 1855 helped a lot to establish fine wine category and the first growth Chateaux as flagship wines, established Bordeaux as the first fine wine region. In Italy, Super Tuscan was born in 1960s to 70s by Incisa della Rocchetta s Sassicaia and Antinori s Tignanello etc.. History of Chilean Wine: Common things for North and South Americas including Napa, Maipo and Aconcagua is that vines and winemaking were brought in by the Spanish Conquistadores but they did not produce fine wines there. In Napa, immigrants such as Mondavi started making fine wines in 1960s. It was the launching of Opus One that made Napa recognized internationally. Chile was producing wines for many years but exporting started in the end of 1980s. In Japan as well as the rest of the world, Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon

3 became well known around 1995 but it was not accompanied with high quality image. My Errazuriz family has a long history of wine making. At first, our family went to Bordeaux and brought back cuttings of many Bordeaux varieties with which we have been making fine wines for many years. Meeting with Robert Mondavi: I joined the family business as my father invited. Then I went to Bordeaux and learned winemaking also from Professor Peynaut. After I came home, I was striving to improve quality of our family wines. In 1991, Mr. Robert Mondavi came to Chile and I was asked to drive him around Chilean wine regions. He found high potential of Chilean wine regions such as Aconcagua, Maipo and Colchagua. He told me about the role of Opus One to improve image of Napa internationally. And we decided to produce together a wine to become Chile s flagship wine, which was named SEÑA (meaning signature, signal). I made the first vintage 1995 with Tim Mondavi. Terroir of SEÑA: Vineyard of SEÑA is located at 40km from the ocean and it is the hillside vineyard receiving strong influence of the cold current. The north-eastern facing slope produces wine with great finess. The 45 estate is sustainably managed and each grape variety is planted to suitable soil. Cabernet Sauvignon planted on clay soil gives back born to the wines. Malbec is Chile s signature grape and also Malbec, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Cabernet Franc are grown here. Shift to Biodaynamic Farming: After we took over the entire SEÑA project, we kept it as a family owned project. We also decided to shift to Biodynamic farming and invited Alan York, Biodynamic consultant from California. Not only the vineyards, we also constructed Biodynamic Cellar and made the preparations and compost using only local products.

4 Berlin Tasting: Even the quality of top wines of Chile was recognized, famous wine critics did not come to visit Chile yet. In 2004, I conducted the Berlin Tasting inspired by the Paris Tasting of 1976 and got cooperation of Steven Spurrier. As we got excellent results, I conducted the same tasting in major capitals in the world spending 10 years. Mr. Chadwick told. In total, around 1,800 wine specialists of the world participated in the tastings and as the result, his wines were placed at No. 1 to No. 3 in 90% of the all cases. The high quality of SEÑA was recognized while its unique character as Chilean wine was praised. Proof of High Potential for Aging: Fine wine must have high aging potentiality. In or der to prove that SEÑA has it, a blind tasting of SEÑA against some fist growth Bordeaux wines was conducted in 2011 at Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong inviting 41 wine specialists. The results were tremendous and after this, under the title of Vertical Tasting Tour, the same tasting was repeated in Seoul, Taipei followed by London with Seven Spurrier and in 2012, in 3 cities in China including Shanghai. Now, all famous wine critics such as Robert Parker, Niel Martin, James Suckling and Louis Gutierrez love Chilean wines.

5 <Tasting Comments> Vintages:1996, 2000, 2003, 2009, 2013, 2015, : Following the first vintage 1995, this 1996 vintage was made with Tim Mondavi and Jenevieve, winemaker of Mondavi, using grapes from the vineyards of Vina Errazriz in Aconcagua Valley. This is a cool vintage and harvest took place from May to June. In Chile, it does not start raining in autumn and we have a long window for harvesting. Variation of harvest timing appears in wine style in Chile. This vintage has style of finess and freshness. SEÑA vineyard is 40 km from the Pacific Ocean, it is cool but still warm enough to ripen Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenere. Tim Mondavi looked for the place where great finess can be expressed. This land also has great maturation potential. Iwata: I visited Aconcagua in Chile in April last year. SEÑA is reflecting the unique terroir of the country has a solid aging potential. Color has orange showing development. Bouquet has black dry fruits, graphite, dry herbs which gives the wine deepness. The palate is fine with finess and elegance. 2000: This year was a little hotter than 1996 and alcohol is 14%. This wine was used for the original Berlin Tasting in 2004 and also berlinin Tokyo in Aged already for 18 years. The terroir is appearing in the color and mushroom character. Iwata: Cool aroma like 1996 but it has more warmness. Nose has intensity with red and black dry fruits, dried meat, iron, dry herbes making layers. The palate has intensity too. Precise and long acidity continues from mid-palate to finish. Soft and melting tannin gives fulfilling mouthfeel. 2003: 2003 was extreme climate and very hot year. Bordeaux also had the hottest climate in the history. Snow melting water from the Andes was also little, so it was hot and dry year. Power and intensity. We waited a little longer after grapes got mature, and it made the most powerful SEÑA ever. Merlot and Cabernet Franc were also added, the wine has power, lots of tannin and good structure.

6 Iwata: After 13 years, aroma is still youthful with black cherry, black berry, plum and refreshing mint, fresh herbs and vanilla from French oak. Strong attack gives impact on the wine. Thanking to the wonderful terroir of Aconcagua with influence from the Humbolt current, good acidity is maintained even in this hot year. The acidity is intact and remains long. Tanning has ripe and sweet impression and gives rich structure. Smooth mouthfeel expresses the vintage character. 2009: A little hot vintage but vines were more prepared as it shifted already to biodynamic farming and the vine age was higher. 5 Bordeaux grapes including Merlot were used. Harvest was late with the last Carmemere in May (November in the northern hemisphere). It is difficult to harvest healthy grapes in November in Bordeaux. In Chile, there is no problem even harvest lasts for 2 months. This wine has the great balance of power and finess. Iwata: Finess and elegance are surely expressed in this wine. Pure and ripe cassis and blackberry, cinnamon, vanilla, Tabaco leaves and cider. Palate is pleasant with smooth tannin. Already approachable. This year, the vineyard is completely shifted to Biodynamic. 2013: SEÑA estate is in harmony with nature and keeping natural fauna and flora. As it is the step for nature, we use only material inside of the estate to produce compost. This is a terroir wine and using healthy grapes with thick skin. Canopy is in harmony and produce power, finess and elegance. In 2004, we planted Malbec, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. It gives balance with finess and chololate character. We harvested a little early and lowered new oak ratio, using Foudre of Stockinger. Purity of this land appears in this wine. Oak and high alcohol gives approachability but hide terroir. Coolness of 2013 is enforcing purity of SEÑA. Finess and silkiness are increased by changing Merlot to Malbec. Strawberry and aromatic character is elegant like European Lady. Iwata: 2013 was a cool year in Aconcagua. Cooler when compared with Fresh and juicy bright black fruits. Sage, thyme and mint chocolate are reflecting cool climate. Attack is intense but restrained. It never has green tannin. Soft, intact

7 and polished tannin. Get finish has floral flavour and Malbec from this year, it makes Andes Blend. tighter from mid-palate. The elegant and delicate. With 2015: Following Bordeaux, Toscana, Napa s styles, finally Chilean Style is established. Blending Chile s Carmemere and Malbec with Argentina influence, the wine has uniqueness. In 2005, as the 2 nd planting, we increased Malbec and Carmenere. Finally, this will make SEÑA s personality. Fine tuning was made to improve quality and to express the terroir vintage has become the best vintage in Chile. Grapes matured perfectly. It has power and purity. New oak and Foudre of Stockinger were used. This year was a little warmer than 2013 and alcohol is 14%. Wonderful balance and harmony. In Chile, people celebrate 21st anniversary as coming to the age and allowed to marry. In 2015, SEÑA has come to the age too. Iwata: This wine has already reached perfection. Fresh, juicy with red and black berries lile boysenberry. Cider, Tabaco, graphite are felt and it has high potential opening up more and more. Palate has intensity on attack. Pure and lively and precise acidity gives structure. After the middle, fulfilling taste expands multidimentionally. Good drinking volume with wonderfully long after taste. As aging potential is very high, it should be enjoyable after 10 or 20 years. <Decanter Man of the Year 2018> I have many things to celebrate on this visit to Tokyo and now one more thing to celebrate. I was just informed in Tokyo that Decanter is awarding me the Man of the Year I feel very honoured to receive the same award which was given to Mr. Robert Mondavi in Educardo Chadwick. <GALA DINNER> At the gala dinner, Japan s representative wine journalists, sommeliers and important members of the wine trade gathered with attendance of the Chilean Ambassador to Japan with his wine. 5 vintages of SEÑA, 1997, 2004, 2009, 2011 and 2015 were poured with the special course menu on the table decorated with red rose petals with illumination of candles. Following the greeting speech by Mr. Chadwick, in the celebrating speech by the Chilean ambassador, he told.i am the Chilean ambassador but the real ambassador in Japan is Chilean wine! then, the audience smiled.

9 Ratings by the main international wine critics. James Suckling awarded Seña 2015 perfect 100 points in his annual report about Chilean wines in May 2017, while Luis Gutiérrez, the reviewer for Robert Parker s Wine Advocate granted it the highest score in his yearly issue on Chilean wines, published in April Stunning aromas of black currant, stone, blueberry and licorice. Also iodine. Floral. Perfumed. Full body, fantastic density of fruit and ripe tannins. It goes on for minutes on the palate with such energy and focus. Touch of chewiness on the finish. A complex and complete wine that delivers a generosity with firmness. James Suckling, awarding 100 points to Seña 2015, The Time for Chilean Wine is Now, May "2015 might have been a slightly warmer year, but the resulting wine is lower in alcohol and higher in acidity, which provide for a more vibrant mouthfeel and a more focused expression of the character of the place. ( ) This is dry, nicely textured, and the replacement of the Merlot by Malbec seems to have also added to the refinement of the tannins that are super-elegant."
