Summer Term: No 9 Tel 01737 354541 email: info@tadworthps.surrey.sch.uk Website: www.tadworthps.surrey.sch.uk 20 June 2013 North Downs Schools Partnership District Sports On Tuesday afternoon, forty nine of our children competed in an annual District Sports competition. Our team, comprising of children from Year 3, 4, 5 and 6, went along to compete in a range of track and field events. The children had regularly a ended an after school club in order to train for the event and all their hard work really paid off as we came first! A lovely afternoon was had by all at Su on Arena. The weather held and the children all competed to the best of their abilities in individual sprints, middle distance runs, long jump, ball throw and team relays. We performed consistently well throughout the competition, and managed to accumulate a lot of points by coming in first, second or third in most of our races. We saved the best until last, as all of our relay teams managed to either come first or second. Miss Prophet and Miss Sharp were very proud of how hard the children worked, what good sportsmanship they showed and how fantastically they behaved. Miss Prophet, who is known for her skills training the team especially the relay event, was especially pleased as we finished one be er than last year! ES District Sports Champions 2013 Well done team, you should be very proud of yourselves and what you have achieved! Many thanks to the parents who helped take children to/from the event and for supporting them on the day. Thanks too to Miss Prophet, Miss Sharp and Mr Mills for training the team clearly to a very high standard! JK Holly and Nathan with the trophy

Lunchbox Leftovers on Shelves Can parents please note that, as from Tuesday 25 June, any left-over packed lunch contents, not in sealed lunch boxes, which are left on the packed lunch shelves outside the Reception classes, will be disposed of at the end of each day. This will include plastic bags that may contain boxes and water bo les, as we do not intend to inspect the contents. Please therefore ensure that all packed lunch containers are taken home every night. We would appreciate your co-operation with this. Hilary Wilson, Bursar PTA Summer Ball Raises over 3,000 Expectations were high this year for our sold out Summer Ball and we were not disappointed. The sun shone and the evening began with champagne and a putting competition on the world famous greens of Walton Heath Golf Club, organised by Rob Ganpatsingh. A superb dinner, enjoyed by over 100 parents and staff, was followed by our raffle and auction compered by Malcolm Cowcher. A perfect evening was rounded off with dancing into the small hours. The total raised on Saturday night was an amazing 3,200. Thank you to all of you who attended the event and helped us raise so much money. The PTA are also very grateful to all those who donated raffle and auction prizes.
