1 Frederick News January 18, 2019 Family Reading Night For those of you that are taking part in our Family Book Club, we will be having our Celebration on Thursday, January 24 th starting at 6:30 PM. We hope to see everyone who participated there. Chromebook Covers Attached is an order form for Chromebook covers if you would care to purchase them through our PTO. While covers are not mandatory, please consider that your child will be expected to use the same Chromebook for a three year period. This Weekend Due to the threat of significant snowfall, the buildings will be closed this weekend. Please check the district website for the status of any weekend district activities. Also a reminder that there is no school Monday due to the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday. 7 Kindness Challenge #3 The RAKtivists are challenging YOU to help us get to 100 Random of Acts of Kindness by February 17th. Choose a card from the bulletin board in the lunchroom. Do the Random Act of Kindness Return the card with a description of the act OR take a picture and post it to **Turn in cards to the office, Ms. Pay, Mrs. Golden, or a fellow RAKtivist (5th graders: Claire C, Grace D, Laura H., Lyma S., Elliana S., Jackson S. 6th graders: Dani E., Caleigh S.)

During the battle, spies managed to add nickels, dimes, and quarters to the containers in te ltiprpose roo, while fortifying their own base with PENNIES AND BOX TOPS. Pursued by other classes sinister agents, PRINCIPAL DETWEILER races home aboard his starship, custodian of the coins and box tops that can save his students and restore freedom and fun events to Frederick. FREDERICK PENNY WARS: MONDAY-FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 4TH-8TH (DURING LUNCH PERIODS ONLY) THERE WILL BE A 5TH GRADE & 6TH GRADE WINNER PRIZE = EXTRA ACTIVITY TIME Each class has its own container in the multipurpose room during lunch periods for collecting money and box tops OIS and BOX TOPS ST B TR I T T OF PRIOS Classes gain points by adding pennies and box tops to their own containers Classes can lower other classrooms totals by adding silver coins (nickels, dimes, quarters) to other classrooms containers Each cent is worth one point when adding or subtracting, BOX TOPS worth 10 points Classes with the highest point totals at the end of the week will win the PRIZE.
