The term "creole" was used to describe the second generation of Europeans in the colony, that is, people who were born in Louisiana. The Creoles, descendants of European aristocrats, soon began to mix with the natives and Africans. The Creoles are therefore a mix of various cultures: French, Spanish, Native American and African. The Cajuns were French speakers who moved to the region from Acadia, in the east of Canada, after British forces forced them out around 176. Both groups settled in the south of Louisiana, and their communities have mixed and continue to coexist today. INTERACTING What are we going to do?
