8 WHAT IS SAKÉ? Saké, also referred to as a Japanese rice wine, is an alcoholic beverage made by fermenting rice that has been polished to remove the bran (the hard outer layers of cereal grain.) Saké quality is determined by the percentage of grain remaining after polishing. SAKÉ CAN AVERAGE 16% ABV, WHICH IS EQUIVALENT TO 2-3 IPA BEERS. HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR SAKÉ? THE LOWER THE PERCENTAGE, THE HIGHER THE QUALITY!
