The purpose of ths manual s to provde the necessary nformaton for the correct nstallaton, handlng and mantenance of the machne, and to emphasze the precautons that should be taken nto consderaton by the operator. To ensure the best use of the coffee grnder, t s essental to carefully follow the nstructons ncluded n ths manual. In the event of a problem, please contact your local techncal servce. Important warnngs The operator must be a responsble adult and under no crcumstances a mnor or a person unable to deal wth sad responsblty. When handlng the grnder, the followng precautons must be taken nto consderaton: Do not handle wth bare feet Hands or feet must not be wet Do not submerge the machne n water Do not expose the machne to sunlght or other atmospherc condtons Never nsert any object nto the coffee nput or output openngs when the machne s turned on. (Please bear n mnd that when the grnder stops, the burrs contnue to turn for a few seconds.) To dsconnect the grnder, always pull out the plug and never the electrcal cable, to avod the possblty of a short crcut. WARNING DON T HIT WITH THE PORTAFILTER DON T RETURN GROUND COFFEE 6.3. Puttng the grnder nto place The grnder should be nstalled on a smooth flat surface. 5 6.4. Installaton of the coffee grnder Before connectng the coffee grnder, check the followng: That the data on the features label concdes wth those of the power supply. That the electrcal current s approprate for the machne. That the connecton pont to the power supply network s protected wth approprate fuses. That the equpment s properly connected to a grounded socket n accordance wth the applcable safety gudelnes. *The coffee grnder should be used n areas wth a room temperature below 25/30ºC ( 77/86ºF ) and should not be nstalled n places (SUCH AS INDUSTRIAL KITCHENS) where cleanng wth water jets are used. 7 Menu and adjustment The grnder has a program that can be confgured usng the three frontal buttons. Rght button (7). Move to the next opton. Mddle button (8). Takes you to the confguraton menu, vsualzng the frst pont on the menu. Ths button s to confrm the optons wth a quck push. If no date appears, ths means that no reset has been made. *The grndng tme can be vared manually durng the grnder s operaton, only when the password s deactvated, usng the left (-) and rght (+) buttons. The grndng tme beng used wll be saved after 20 servngs.

To program ths functon, add to the edted message /F for the date and /R for the tme and date to appear (see 1.4 for confguraton). Adjust coffee servng (ex. 1 servng = 7 or 8 grams) If ths opton s actvated and we have surpassed the prevously confgured klos, a message wll appear to change the burrs after each servng. After burr change, nstallaton of equpment or adjustment by techncal personnel. Resettng of the number of relatve servngs. Prepare the hopper by placng t on the grnder and turnng t clockwse untl t fts n place. Remove the hopper ld (1), fll the hopper (2) wth coffee, close the ld and open the hopper openng. Fg.1. If the hopper s not correctly ftted, a warnng message wth appear on the dsplay. Connect the machne to the power supply; turn t on usng the ON-OFF swtch located on the bottom part of the grnder (11). Select the desred grndng pont usng the endless regulator (tghtenng t for a fner grnd and loosenng for thcker grnd). FINER THICKER Allen key ENDLESS GRINDLOCK Lock the endless regulator when you reach the desred grndng pont usng the allen key ncluded whth your grnder. Fg. 2. Place the portaflter under the dscharge tube. The amount of coffee dspensed per servng wll depend on the grndng pont (adjustable wth the endless regulator) and the grndng tme (see pont 2 of the menu structure). The grnder has 3 operatng modes that you can choose from pont 1 on the menu: a) Automatc wth pre-doss. The dspenser has 2 chambers that hold two pre-ground servngs. The grnder wll dspense one or two servngs based on the number of pushes made. The grnder then automatcally grnds as many servngs as those dspensed n order to mantan the 2 chambers wth ground coffee. b) Automatc. The doors of the chambers can be open so that the servng(s) selected s(are) ground and dspensed nstantly, wth the grndng tme selected n pont 2 of the menu. c) Manual. The dorrs of the chambers can be open so that the grnder grnds and dspenses nstantly, wth the grnd tme beng the amount of tme we wat between the frst and second push. HOPPER OPENING Fg. 1 Fg. 2 NOTE: If the brewed coffee comes out slowly, ths could be because the grnd s too fne or there s an excess of coffee. If t comes out ver fast, t could be because the grnd s very thck or there s lttle cofee. A perfect espresso s acheved wth a grndng pont of 25ml of coffee brewed n 25 seconds.

7 9 Cleanng 9.1. General cleanng To guarantee the correct operaton of the machne as well as the qualty of the ground coffee, we should perodcally clean the parts that come nto contact wth the coffee (at least once a week). Before performng any type of mantenance work, the followng ndcatons must be taken nto consderaton: Always turn off the machne usng the ON-OFF swtch (11). Dsconnect the machne from the power supply. Do not submerge the machne n water or use waterjet Cleanng of the coffee bean hopper Before cleanng, make sure that there are no beans left n the hopper (2). Close the hopper openng lever, turn t counter-clockwse untl t comes off the grnder. Clean t wth a damp cloth or soap and water to elmnate the ol resdues from the coffee, washng t carefully and then dryng. Replace the hopper and turn t clockwse back nto poston, Fg 1. If t s not correctly postoned, a warnng message wth appear on the dsplay Cleanng the coffee dscharge tube To clean the coffee dscharge tube, select (pont 1.3) CLEANING from the menu and make sure that the upper and lower lds are open. Wth the help of a brush, clean the remans of coffee that may be stuck to the nsde of the dspenser chambers. Lastly, close the lds n pont and of the menu Exteror cleanng To clean the exteror, use a brush or a cloth dampened wth a lttle bt of soap and water. NOTE: Never use damp clothes to clean the coffee depost. Conserve the brush n a protected place and only use t to clean the grnder to avod t beng contamnated from other substances. If you do NOT follow these nstructons, t could affect the taste and aroma of the coffee. 10 Mantenance 10.1 General warnngs Before performng any type of mantenance work, the followng ndcatons should be taken nto consderaton: Always turn off the machne usng the ON-OFF swtch (11). Dsconnect the machne from the power supply. In the event of a breakdown or malfuncton, turn the machne off. Do not try to repar t or ntervene drectly. Please call your local techncal servce. NOTE: Falure to respect ths warnng could endanger the safety of both the machne and user Regular mantenance To guarantee the effcency and correct operaton of the grnder, t s essental to follow manufacturer nstructons and ensure that all mantenance work s carred out by qualfed staff. Regular, programmed nspectons are recommended of the parts subject to wear and tear. The usage level of the burrs whch should be systematcally checked. The perfect condtons of the burrs guarantees an even grnd of the coffee and an optmum qualty of the product served. It also reduces electrcal consumpton and the rsk of the motor and burrs overheatng. NOTE: Based on extensve experence and a medum-hard coffee blend, we recommend replacng the burrs accordng to the followng table: Model Kg/lb of ground coffee A Kg/880 lb

Completely remove the upper burr tray from the cup and take out the upper burr (fg. 7). 9. Turn the nut on the motor axle n a clockwse drecton. Preferably wth a socket wrench. Hold the lower burr tray n place usng a tool n order to avod t turnng when loosenng the nut. Be careful to not damage any component (fg. 8). 10. Clean off coffee resdue from the screws on the lower burrs (fg. 8). 11. Unscrew the 3 screws on the lower burr, contnung to hold the lower burr holder n place to avod t turnng. a.to remove the lower burr holder: take out the 3 screws on the burr by unscrewng them n sequence and pushng down on the cup so that the pressure works to lft t up from the motor axle. 12. Before puttng n the new burrs, make sure both burr holders are resdue-free n order to not affect the parallelsm between them. 13. Put n the new burrs. 14. Turn the upper burr holder n the cup untl the burrs touch. 15. Screw on the upper crown wheel. 16. Replace the slcone cover. Screw on the upper coverng. 17. Replace the endless regulator and grnd lock. Replace the hopper turnng t clockwse. 18. Go to pont of the menu to confgure the reset to zero after the burr change. 9 11 Safety measures 12 Declaraton of EC Conformty The grnder ncorporates a safety mechansm to stop grndng when the hopper (2) s removed. Demonstratonal vdeo avalable at: NOTE: The manufacturer cannot accept responsblty for any damage caused by mproper use of the machne or falure to respect the safety measures ndcated above. Users are asked to pay careful attenton to the followng ndcatons: The coffee grnder should only be used for grndng coffee beans. Do not use the machne to grnd other types of foods such as nuts, dred fruts or to fne-grnd granulated foods such as sugar, etc. The applance s not to be used by chldren or persons wth reduced physcal, sensory or mental capactes, or lack of experence and knowledge, unless they have been gven supervson or nstructon. Any other use of the machne wll be consdered mproper and dangerous. Do not allow lquds to come nto contact wth the nternal or external surfaces of the machne at any tme, except for those parts that have been expressly referred to n the CLEANING secton. If, for any reason, ths should occur, mmedately dsconnect the machne from the power supply and dry all surfaces carefully. Should t be necessary to access the nternal parts of the machne, where the electrcal components are located, take the machne to your local techncal servce. In the event of any broken components or nterventon, we recommend that you contact your local techncal servce, who wll repar or replace the part, guaranteeng the mantenance of the safety standards. Replacement of the man power cable of any Compak grnder can only be carred by Compak or an authorzed suppler. In accordance wth European communty drectves, qualty certfcates have been appled.
