Keep away from drafts as this will cause the chocolate to flow unevenly. Ensure the base unit is completely level by adjusting the feet as necessary. It is important that water, water-based liquids or alcohol do not get into the chocolate as this will make it harden and stop the flow. General Description Oxford Event Hire s 4-tier Chocolate Fountain is ideal for events of around guests. 2

3 Assembling your 4-tier Chocolate Fountain Place the bowl on top of the base unit and fix it firmly on the screw/bayonet fitting. Join the smaller spiral drive to the larger one by connecting and turning them anti-clockwise. Fit the completed spiral drive unit in the centre of the bowl. Select the longer of the two central column sections. Place it over the spiral drive and connect it in the 4 locating pins in the bowel s centre. Take the largest two tiers and slip them over the spiral drive and the central column. Take the shorter central column section, slip it over the spiral drive and place the column over the screw and fit on top of the larger column and twist in place. Add the remaining two tiers in size order, the larger one first. Complete the set-up by placing the top hat on top of the column. Starting up To start using the Chocolate Fountain, please follow the below instructions: Plug in the appliance to the main power supply. Set the heater temperature to 70 degrees by pressing the up arrow. Allow the fountain bowl to heat for minutes. Your chocolate needs to be melted before pouring it into the pre-warmed fountain bowl. The quickest and simplest way to do this is in a microwave, but you can also melt your chocolate on the hob. For the best cascading effects with our 4-Tier Chocolate Fountain, you will need kg of chocolate. Fountain: The simplest method to melt your chocolate is to pour 2.5 kg of chocolate drops into fountain bowl with the heating element on, stirring occasionally with a wooden spoon. Once melted, add the second 2.5 kg batch of chocolate drops. Ensure the spiral drive is turned off until the chocolate has fully melted. This process will take approximately 2 hours. Microwave: Place your chocolate into a suitable bowl, microwave for 1½ minutes on medium power (800w), then stir. Return the bowl of chocolate to the microwave and heat for a further 1½ minutes and then check again, repeating until melted and of a thin consistency that flows easily off a spoon. Hob: Chocolate may also be melted using the Bain-marie/double boiler method (pour the chocolate drops into a heat-resistant bowl which fits over a saucepan of simmering water, stirring constantly until it has completely melted. Take care not to let it stick, burn or for any water to mix with the chocolate. 3

4 After setting up your chocolate fountain and pouring your pre-melted chocolate into the bowl of the base unit (see the following instructions), the spiral drive draws the warm chocolate to the top of the tier system and the enticing cascade of chocolate will flow over the tiers with its irresistible warm chocolate aroma. The chocolate then falls back into the bowl before starting its journey all over again. Once the chocolate is in full flow, everyone can dip the food of their choice! Useful Tips Our chocolate fountains are extremely versatile, so why not let your imagination run wild. In addition to chocolate our 4-tier fountain can also be used with barbecue or sweet chilli sauce, cheese or a warm fruit coulis. Here are a few common serving ideas for use with chocolate: Fresh Fruits: Strawberries, Grapes, Pineapple, Bananas, Peaches, Apricots, Cherries, Oranges, Melon, Apples, Pears, Plums, Blackberries, Blueberries, Gooseberries, Mangos, Kiwi, Star Fruit, Papaya, Dragon Fruit, Chilli Peppers. Other Fruits and Vegetables: Dried Apricots, Dried Dates, Crystallized Ginger. Sweets: Marshmallows, Jelly Babies, Fudge. Biscuits: Chocolate Brownies, Coconut Macaroons. Cakes: Profiteroles, Mini Doughnuts. Packing Down When you have finished with your Chocolate Fountain, please do the following: Switch off, unplug and allow the chocolate fountain to cool down for minutes. Pour away any remaining liquid chocolate from the bowl, using a rubber or wooden spatula to assist you. Dismantle and place all the chocolate fountain parts into plastic bags within the carriage box. 4
