Spring Lambs SQQ p/kg A prime lamb SQQ of 250p/kg would put Thame lambs up there with the best in the country with the SQQ including some very lean sorts. Mr C J Sabine had a super run of lambs selling to or 265p/kg for 41 ½ kg Texels. The same farm also took 263p/kg for 38kg Texels as did T B Checkley & Son at Mrs Anne Merry took or 255p/kg for 42kg. Trade remains strong for all classes, a Dairy x Aberdeen Angus heifer tops this week at 1678 for O+4L. A tremendous lot of Charolais heifers placed mainly -U and U+ topping at 1596 with many over 1500 (a credit to the producers). A heavyweight Limousin tops the bulls at 1712 for E2. Under 16 months to 1573 with a terrific run seeing several over 1500 (again a credit to the producers). Commercial R grades from 364p/kg. Bonuses on inspec carcass see R s well over 370p/kg. First cattle sold off grass this week a O+4L Beef Shorthorn to Demand still remains strong for Aberdeen Angus cattle. Black and whites also wanted with less deductions now on -O grades. OTM clean steers top at 1602 for R4L Aberdeen Angus with others to 1543 and Heifers to 1573 for U+3 Charolais.
