The garden seems full of energy and life, with everything fruiting and flourishing so much I can hardly keep up. Dove Cottage Tanya s News Awakening Our Energy! Rosemary Essential Oil Adults. Rosemary oil is wonderful for complete physical and mental exhaustion. It s warming properties relax & revitalize muscles and stimulate brain function (especially memory). Rosemary oil helps the liver which is vital for energy production. People with hangovers, post-viral syndrome, fibromyalgia & chronic fatigue will benefit using Rosemary oil. Ylang Ylang Essential Oil Adults. The aphrodisiac & euphoric properties of Ylang Ylang uplift the body & spirit. A few drops of Ylang Ylang, Rose & Sandalwood in a carrier oil makes the most delicious massage/bath oil or perfume. Ylang Ylang calms a fiery, cranky mind and ignites fire in the Increasing our own energy and helping our children through term 4 is the focus of this newsletter. Locally we had a long cold winter with that nasty virus belly. The essential party oil to enjoy! Mandarin Essential Oil Children. The effects of a few drops of chamomile & mandarin oil in the bath of an overtire child is amazing! Mandarin oil encourages a cherry disposition and is invaluable for tummy upsets and colic. Chamomile Essential Oil Children. A gentle and nurturing oil. I don t know what I would do without this magical oil. Great for pain, teething, tummy aches & cranky, restless children. Aromatherapy Application Please refer to our Winter Newsletter for dilutions and doses. Remember to always patch test diluted essential oils before use. that seemed to hang around for months. It feels time to shake off the winter blues and jump into Spring with vitality & enthusiasm! Be happy & healthy, Favourite Spring Essential Oils for Energy Oil Burner Add 5-10 total drops of essential oil in vapouriser. You can make your own blend with up to three different essential oils. Massage 5 drops essential oil with 10ml carrier oil to make a gorgeous oil for your massage! Facial/Body Oil/ Aftershave 5 drops essential oil to 10ml carrier oil for soothing blend. Perfume 7 drops essential oil to 10ml carrier oil. Dab on your pulse points to maximize the benefits. Therapeutic Bath 5 drops essential oil to bath water Foot Bath 5 drops essential oil to large bowl or foot bath

2 Page 2 Do ve Cot tage V olume 1, Is sue 2 Energy Foods for Spring Our energy for our bodies comes from the food we eat. Alive Food = giving energy. Dead processed, sugar foods or foods we can t digest well = taking our energy. Foods that are particularly energygiving are extremely easy to digest, have a low toxic residue and are high in nutrients. 1. Fresh juices/green Smoothies. My favourite website for raw food ideas and delicious energy-giving smoothies and juices is 2. Sprouts/Micro Greens. Each sprout or micro green shoot contains all the nutrients that the plant needs to reach maturity. I find sprouting a bit of a hassle so my preference is growing Micro Greens. You can buy seedling trays for about $2.20. Simply 3/4 fill with organic potting mix or compost or dirt.. Cover with a generous sprinkle of sprouting seeds. (My kids like Sunflower sprouts. The guinea pigs love oat grass. I enjoy the sophisticated flavor of horseradish sprouts.) Cover the seeds with more soil etc. Water daily and harvest when two or more leaves appear. See Green Harvest Sprouting & Micro Green guide. 3. Fresh, raw salads. Live, seasonal vegetables and fruit are wonderful. 4. Special energy foods and supplements School Children Term 4 always seems to be busy and tiring especially for little children. Volcamin 200ml by Cellogic is an easy to take tonic full of minerals and energy to help growing bodies get a boost. A lovely mandarin and chamomile bath for tired and cranky children does wonders. Mandarin Oil 6 drops Chamomile 6 drops Epsom/Celtic Salt 1 cup If they are run-down add a cup of oats (contained in muslin cloth) to the bath as well. Teenagers & Students Lemon oil for accuracy and mental activity. Brahmi/Bacopa (tablets/tea/or a couple of fresh leaves) gives the brain energy. Very calming to the body and enlivening to the mind. Popular for exams. Rosemary oil is another great exam herb. Bruise the fresh leaves or add the very economical essential oil to the bath. Fantastic for complete physical and mental exhaustion. Rosemary gives the brain energy and relieves tired eyes. Adults Besides good food, the body needs adequate rest and relaxation plus regular movement to produce energy. On a purely physical level our libido (sex drive) is a good indicator of our energy levels. Our bodies need to wind down to be able to wind up. Good blood flow and general fitness also helps. Korean Ginseng (tea, tables or tincture) is a personal favourite when one needs to stay awake doing paperwork or hot dates. This is not meant to be used continuously only on special occasions. Withania Ashwanda (tablets/ tincture is fantastic when taken continuously this is the Super Woman/Man herb! Withania helps prevent and treat adrenal fatigue or the effects of chronic stress. It gives enduring energy and the ability to cope with whatever life brings. (It is safe taken when pregnant & breastfeeding.)

A wonderful blog to follow is Janella Purcell s where she chats about the joys of spring and creating an edible garden. spring---creating- Janella's Wholefood Kitchen - Available November 1st, 2012 Check out her latest book.. books-tv-and-dvd/books Smoked Trout, Lemon and Broccolini Spelt Fusulli Spelt is an old variety of wheat originating in Persia. It contains gluten but is easily digested. High in protein and immune boosting properties. Made from local traditional grown spelt. Carefully milled and kneaded. This is beautiful pasta from an ancient grain. Janella Purcell Serves 4 Oh how sweet it is. A quick pasta is something we all love, especially when it tastes like this. Try the noodles or pasta I've suggested, and best to eat this dinner early, then go for a walk. Ingredients 1 pkt spelt fusulli 2 tbls olive oil 2 spring onion, chopped finely 2 garlic cloves, crushed 1-2 tsp chilli flakes (up or down up to you) 1 bunch broccolini, blanched 1/2 cup smoked trout 1 tbls lemon rind, grated 1 tbls capers Sea salt & cracked pepper 1 cup of mint and parsley, chopped finely Lemon juice and olive oil to finish Method Saute the spring onion in the olive oil then add the garlic and chilli flakes. Stir for a minute. Meanwhile put a pot of water on the boil. Place you trimmed broccolini in the water and blanch for about 30 seconds, keeping it green. Refresh it under cold water to stop it coking. Set aside. Now place the pasta in the water and cook until al dente. Meanwhile, flake the trout into the pan with the lemon rind and capers Sir to combine. Toss in the pasta and broccolini then finish with lots of parsley, mint, and seasoning. Drizzle with lemon juice and extra olive oil. Happiness is an attitude. We either make ourselves miserable, or happy and strong. The amount of work is the same. ~ Francesa Reigler
