Left to flower, all mints readily cross-pollinate. Seedlings do not have their parents characteristics. Choose a mint you like, and propagate from cuttings or division. Continual cutting (harvesting) encourages the production of new tips, increasing the yield and extending the harvesting period. Grow each mint in its own container, or planted in a large pot sunk to soil level, in the ground. To maintain vigour, all the mints on the nursery are repotted each Spring. Popular varieties are propagated from root cuttings and made available throughout the growing season. Unusual varieties as stock plants are propagated.
