Quality has been very good. Broccoli: Broccoli crowns will hold steady, whereas 14ct bunches will drop in market price for next week. Dole wrapped 14 s will see a slight increase in market price for next week. 2 Bunched Greens: Bunched greens are now 100% sourced from Georgia. Glory Foods organic bagged kale is expected to be available around 10/27! Cabbage: Local green and red cabbage are currently shipping with good supply. Market price is steady. Cauliflower: Cauliflower will see a moderate price increase next week. Despite active and fluctuating market prices for the last several weeks, Dole is reporting good supply for next week. Celery: Market price on 30ct sleeved, 36ct sleeved and 18/1# hearts will see minor increases for next week. Good supply is forecast for next week, but markets are expected to follow an upward trend as seasonal demand rises. Corn: Georgia quality and availability is excellent. Availability has improved and is steady. Market prices are projected to stay low for the next few weeks. Florida is anticipating starting to harvest around mid-november. Cucumbers: Nogales is shipping excellent quality with stable markets. Eggplant: Georgia, North Carolina and California are shipping with stable markets. Supply is expected to become tight over the next few weeks as some of these growing areas finish. Nogales is a few weeks from shipping. Green Beans: All growers will be in light supply of Roy Boy beans for the remainder of the Georgia season. White fly damage has been very extensive this season due to wet weather. Expect high prices and light supplies until the Florida season begins. Florida should start around the first week of November. Green Bell Peppers: We are currently seeing the best quality shipping from California. Markets are stable now, but expected to rise as some regions in California are expecting to finish in a couple of weeks. Nogales is anticipating a mid-november start. Hard Shell Squash: California is shipping with Mexico starting soon. We will stay with local for the next week to 10 days. HOT HOUSE PRODUCTS: Colored Peppers: Canada is producing a few, with other regions in Mexico still up and running but starting to wind down as well. TOV: Quality has been good. More Mexican product making its way into the markets. Beef Tomato: Still not much production. No one has really said when this will turn around. Hydro Cukes: Good quality and great time to promote. Iceberg Lettuce: Iceberg will see a market price drop for next week. Supply is forecast to be good with promotable volumes available. Huron is now harvesting and overlapping with the Salinas Valley. Salinas will wrap up production by 10/24. Mini Sweet Peppers: Supply has improved. Quality is very good. The market is fairly stable. Onions: The onion market remains stable on the majority of colors and sizes. Jumbo-size yellow onion prices have come down as supply exceeds demand. At this time, there is an abundance of Western onion supplies holding down the market. Little to no significant change is expected short-term. Onions will continue to be promotable through the holidays. POTATOES: Russets: All major shipping areas for russet potatoes are completing their fall harvests. It appears that the crop is going to be similar to previous years in both yield and quality. The exception being the new crop of russet potatoes from growers in Idaho, who have experienced above average yields. All shipping areas are evaluating their current supplies to determine the shipping pace to market the new crop russet potatoes. Reds: Significant loss from the recent rain in Wisconsin and a very wet North Dakota grower season will affect the long term storage supply. As a result, the red potato market will remain strong for the foreseeable future. B size Reds continue to be tight. Golds: New crop yellow potatoes appear to be in very good condition in all the major shipping areas. There are expected short yields from growers in Red River Valley where late season rain caused some crop damage. Expect price increases. Sweet Potatoes: New crop Mississippi Sweets are now available. We are now carrying new crop Jerseys and Red Garnets from California.

3 Snow Peas / Snap Peas: There will be a shortage of both varieties for a few weeks. California is short on supply due to growing conditions causing a tight market as the import crop is feeling the pressure. Peru will finish in a couple of weeks and Guatemalan product takes its place. Expect price increases. Sweet Potatoes: New crop Mississippi Sweets are now available. We are now carrying new crop Jerseys and Red Garnets from California. Due to a supply interruption, we have switched from Green Giant to Riverboat Steamer Microwave Sweet Potatoes - item code # Upland Cress: There are production issues on the conventional upland cress for the next few weeks. We will be getting our orders prorated by half. Zucchini and Yellow Squash: Mexico is shipping great quality with excellent availability. Market price is dropping and will remain low. VALUE ADDED DOLE: Lettuce: We are in good supplies and quality on iceberg for the week. The Salinas Valley weather has been favorable of late and has led to above budgeted field yields for the industry. The forecast is calling for the mild west coast growing conditions to continue for the next couple of weeks, so we shouldn t have any problem covering our current demand forecast with good overall quality and texture moving forward. Our front end Huron iceberg acreage has been thinned and stands look good. Barring any unforeseen dramatic weather in the next few weeks, the transition looks to be shaping up nicely. We are underway with our first Yuma area plantings and in a couple of weeks we will start to assess crops and report accordingly. Romaine: We are in good romaine supplies for the next few weeks. Quality is good. Just as with iceberg, with the recent favorable growing conditions field yields have been solid and leaf texture is good which should give us optimal shelf life potential while hitting target plant yields and good VA throughput. All this said, we understand that we are steadily approaching that time of year where we can experience volatility in the weather and our industry supply situation can turn on a dime so we will forecast availability cautiously for mid-october through November. Leaf Lettuce: We are in good supplies for the next few weeks. Quality is good. Cabbage: Cabbage is sourced in the CA, Ohio and Michigan growing areas. Green supplies are good. Quality is good. Red supplies are good and quality is good. Tenderleaf: Good supplies available in spring mix and spinach. Quality is good. MANN: Snap Peas: Quality is just OK. There is still some bruising. Snap Peas supplies are better than originally reported for October due to poor demand. French Beans & Wax Beans: Supplies continue to be inconsistent due to quality issues. EBF: Outlook is steady for all raw product salad supplies this week. Organic Romaine Hearts: Unfortunately, the Romaine Easy Leaves clamshell lines are not back up to speed quite yet. We hope to see supply in the next couple of weeks. 4 Avocados: A limited number of growers and packers are picking and packing fruit. Product still remains extremely tight with no resolution in the near future between growers and packers. Watermelon: The market is increasing as we load all Mexican fruit. Western Mexico harvest has been delayed due to rain and hurting product availability, increasing the market price. Blackberries: Mexico is running strong for the next couple of weeks. Great time to promote! Cantaloupe/Honeydew: California is done. Arizona is producing as well as some melons from Mexico. Offshore market will start in a couple weeks. Citrus: California Citrus Update - Minneolas - late December, Cara Caras - Week of 12/5, Tangerines - 11/14, Mandarins - 10/17, Halos - early November, Moro/Blood - late November, Pummelos - mid-october, CA Navel - 10/24, Sky Valley Navels - 1/1 The import navel season came to an abrupt end. We will be loading new crop navels on 10/24 for delivery to stores on 10/29. Cranberries: Now available! Color keeps getting better every loading period. Grapes: Look for the market to start to trend upwards as some shippers are finishing up early on greens. The early start to the season looks like it could make it end early as well. Right now is still a great time to promote as quality has been excellent. Grape Tomatoes: Transitioning to Florida will low production out of that growing area. A few growers left in Mexico. Mangoes: We are now into Brazilian new crop. Quality and condition has been very good. Pomegranates: 36ct sized fruit will no longer be available from POM Wonderful this season. Due to growing conditions that influence fruit sizing, POM is reporting that 36ct and smaller will not be available, but 30ct and larger should be in good supply. Therefore, we will carry 30ct and 22ct POM Wonderful sizes. 36ct sized fruit is still available from non-pom Wonderful shippers. Raspberries: Promotable volume and quality has been excellent. Strawberries: Growers are coming off from a big flush and rain in the growing region over the weekend. Look for things to tighten up before Mexico is up and running at 100% ORGANIC New Items: Organic local cranberries Organic tommy mangoes Up Next - Organic fuyu persimmons in two weeks Organic Apple Cider: Hoch Orchard has their packaging issues figured out and are now packing half gallons instead of the 50oz. That is 14 more ounces for the same price! We are also bringing in the 4/1 gallon cider again. Organic Asian Pears: We have about a week or two left in the season. Organic Asparagus: 11# asparagus out of Mexico is here. Organic Blueberries: We have a limited amount of berries from Argentina here now, but the hurricane in Florida delayed the next shipment, and it is not available to load until next week. We will be out for some of next week. But good news, price is dropping! Organic Cranberries: Wisconsin organic cranberries will be here this weekend from Reusch Century Farm. These are the same fantastic cranberries that we had last year. Organic Eggplant: Eggplant is not available right now. It should be about a week before Mexican product is ready. Organic Grapefruit: Coming into better supply of bag and bulk grapefruit from southern California. Organic Grape Tomatoes: Delcabo left one of their major tomato fields behind because of pest and weather issues. Grape tomatoes are still tight.
