Half squats (improves leg strength) Stand facing the bench with your feet apart (about shoulder width), feet facing forward and holding on with both hands. Leaning very slightly forward, but keeping your back straight, slowly bend both legs, keeping your knees over your feet. Do not go down too far. Return to up position, repeat this 8 times at first increasing to 15. Heel raises (for strength and balance) Stand sideways to the bench, feet apart (shoulder width) holding on with one hand to support yourself. Slowly rise up on to your toes, hold for 1 second and lower again. Do this 8 times to begin with, increasing to 15. Make sure your movements are not rushed. As you progress, try these exercises holding on with one fingertip. REMINDER Labelling of clothing Before placing new items of clothing in resident s wardrobe, please place them in a plastic bag and leave with Reception in order for Hospitality staff to label the clothing thereby reducing the possibility of missing items. With the change of season it is now time to check that clothing appropriate for the warmer weather is in wardrobes rather than winter clothing. Please remove any articles of clothing not required during the Spring / Summer season.
2 Editor: Deb Dutton, CEO, The Windmill Rembrandt Court Issue September 2018 Home Care Hub 1 Madras Street, Oaklands Park SA Greenfields Drive, Green Fields SA 5107 Ph The weekly newsletter of Rembrandt Living Ph FROM THE GREEN TEAM After hearing talk about the war on waste, a group of staff at Rembrandt Court have commenced a workplace waste reduction program. So the project team named The Green Team have started looking at some small projects that over time have a huge impact... ideas to start the ball rolling include: introducing keep cups in the café start a bottles and cans recycling program set up a compost bin phase out use of plastic bags in waste paper bins change plastic straws for paper reduce the amount of paper printed separate all waste to maximise recycling Over the next few weeks you will notice new signage for our bins. These signs are designed to inform, direct and promote our new recycling regime at Rembrandt Court. We have 3 symbols; the yellow tree signs are bins for plastic recycling, the green tree sign is for paper recycling and the black tree sign is for general rubbish (note: only general rubbish bins will have bin liners). Please look out for these symbols prior to placing anything in our bins and thank you for helping us to take better care of the environment. Together we can create change, inspire others and help keep our environment healthy.
