Thirty-three (33) firms registered via the City web site. At the public bid opening on June 7, 16, five (5) bids were opened and read aloud. Goodmark Nurseries has supplied trees to the City for several years and the City is satisfied with their performance. Ohana Farms and Fawn Landscaping and Nurseries are new suppliers and their references have proven satisfactory. The contract term is for the Fall planting season only and ends on November 30, 16. Staff recommends that the contract be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidders: Goodmark Nurseries of Wonder Lake, Illinois, Ohana Farms of Marengo, Illinois, and Fawn Landscaping and Nurseries of Frankfort, Illinois. This item was presented as an Action Item at the Committee of the Whole on June 13, 16, at which time the Committee approved the motion on a voice vote of 7/0.
