1 HOLIDAYS HOMEWORK: CLASS I GD GOENKA PUBLIC SCHOOL, SECTOR -22 ROHINI Summer Time Summer is messy, Summer is fun. Summer is spending all day in the sun. Summer is campfires, snores and late nights. Summer is windy days spent flying kites. Summer is tan lines and splashing in lakes. Summer is mornings with chocolate pancakes. Summer is time spent with family and friends. Summer is hoping that it never ends. LEARNING BY DOING: Practice tying shoe laces and buttoning up your shirt. Keep your room clean and well organized. Help your parents with daily chores. Don t forget to spend time with your grandparents and help them. Eat nutritious food and stay healthy. INSTRUCTIONS: A set of worksheets has already been sent to help students practice the concepts learnt in class. Kindly complete them according to the instruction given on the worksheets. (same set of worksheets are uploaded on the blog as well.) Complete and send all the worksheets in It s My Work Folder on Monday, 03 July 2017 positively.
2 THE HAPPY HAND WRITER Good Handwriting is a necessary part of education. Tips for Good Handwriting: Finger Muscle Exercises Tripod Pencil Grip Correct posture Handwriting is an essential skill for both children and adults. In order to encourage early writing skills at home, let your child use writing tools such as pencil, chalk and crayons. Homework to be done: In a three in one notebook, Practice the following: 1. English: Write 15 pages from New Gems Reader (1 page a day). 2. Hindi: Write 15 pages from Bhasha Setu (1 page a day). 3. Math: Number Names from 0-20 (10 pages). ART & CRAFT Make the following crafts according to the mentioned alphabetical order. A-E will make Wind Chime F-R will make Wind Mill S- Z will make Hot Air Balloon
3 Wind Chime Material Required: empty plastic bottles, paint, beads, bells, thread Instructions: Cut the bottles from the top, paint and make different designs on it. String the beads on the thread and stick it to the edge of bottle. Also tie a small bell at the end of the thread. Repeat the procedure with 5-6 bottles and assemble them together. Hear the sound in the air. Wind Mill Material Required: paper roll, paint, board pin, colored paper, sticks Instructions: Take a paper roll and cap the top with a paper cone as shown in the picture. Using sticks make 4 wings for the fan with the colored paper and draw patterns on it. Attach the fan with thumb pin on the top.our wind mill is ready. Hot Air Balloon Material Required: paper cup, paint, balloon, threads and paper Instructions: Cover the balloon with 3 to 4 layers of tissue paper dipped in a solution of fevicol and water. Let it dry for a day and burst the balloon. The tissue paper layers will take the shape of a balloon. Colour/decorate the balloon creatively and make holes to hang the thread as shown in the picture. Punch the top round of the paper cup and hang threads as shown to hang the paper cup under the balloon and paint it with beautiful colors.
4 Your hot air balloon is ready to fly. COMPUTER Draw a pet animal and a wild animal using geometrical shapes on MS Paint and bring the labeled print out after the summer break. LIFE SKILLS Children! It s time to inform you about the incredible mission that you have this summer of making an impact by helping the poor and the needy. This would enable our young children to deal effectively with real world demands and challenges. Instruction: 1. Help your child distribute a bottle or two of cold drinking water to people like rickshaw puller, auto driver, roadside vendors, society guards, etc. to help quench their thirst on a hot, dry day. 2. You may also feed the birds/animals by keeping some water and food in a mud bowl in an open area. 3. Plant a sapling 4. Water the plants Click 5-6 pictures of these wonderful gestures towards mankind and arrange them in a beautiful collage on an A-4 size sheet.
5 ACTIVITY STUDIO WATERMELON AGUA FRESCA Preparation Time: 10 mins Serves: 03 Ingredients Watermelon (1 bowl) Sprite 1 bottle (300 ml) Lime Juice 2 tsp Crushed Ice As per requirement Mint Sprigs 9-10 Lemon Wedges 6(of one lemon) Lime Slice For Garnish 3 slices Method Blend watermelon and lime juice together. Place 2 fresh mint sprigs and 2 cut lemon wedges in each glass and muddle them. Divide the blended watermelon mixture into 3 glasses. Add sprite in it. Top it with crushed ice. Mix it well. Now garnish it with a lemon slice, sprigs of mint and serve chilled.
6 NUTELLA FERRERO ROCHER MILKSHAKE Preparation Time: 10 mins Serves: 02 Ingredients Nutella Chocolate Spread 3 tbsp Ferrero Rocher Chocolate 2 Chilled Milk 1 glass Vanilla Ice-Cream 2 scoops for shake and 2 for topping Crushed Ice As per requirement Method Combine all the ingredients in a mixer (except ferrero rocher chocolate) and blend it well. Drizzle chocolate syrup on the inside of the glasses. Pour equal quantities of the milkshake into 2 individual glasses. Top with a scoop of ice cream. Pour chocolate syrup and put a ferrero rocher chocolate on it. Serve chilled.
