1 Gluten Free Guides to London Coming to London for the Allergy & Free From Show? Well make sure you explore all the amazing gluten free friendly places across the city. My passion is for inclusive dining, and so my mission is to share all the places I have discovered and tried that cater to GF consumers with confidence and flair, making us feel welcome and normal. London is booming with more and more places to eat that cater confidently for gluten free consumers, plus there are a growing number of completely GF establishments. Whilst not a comprehensive list of everything in the area, these are places I know, trust and love to personally recommend! Plus check out my dedicated GF articles on the Londonist, including a whole one dedicated to gluten free street food! best- gluten- free- street- food.php SOUTH: Borough Market: Not only the most popular tourist attraction in town, this gourmet market is packed with GF food offers, including shops for ingredients and things to take home. Elliot s simple, seasonal food inspired by the produce at the market and owned by a coeliac chef. cafe/ Wright Brothers To die for seafood much of which can be made GF Roast Head here for breakfast / brunch using the markets best meats, with GF bread, muesli from Magoo and much more. Also the roast of course! restaurant.com/ Ethiopian Flavours Naturally GF street food in the market by the cathedral. Horn OK please South Indian dosas and street food snacks such as aloo tikki & bhel puri. Flavour packed feast. WOKIT Fast, clean and made to order stir fries where you can choose from a range of GF noodle and sauce options. They get cross contamination and are very accommodating. Gujarari Rasoi Proper Indian cooking free from wheat, and everything clearly labeled.

2 Baxters Brasserie Another street food stall serving simple steak and salad sourced from Silfield Farm. Great value. Total Organics Salad and juice bar where you can get a whopping slice of tortilla as a salad box. organics- 2 Furness Fish Serving their fish from the stall made in front of your in paella pans are freshly made fish curries and paella, you couldn t get fresher. fish- game PLUS: A 10 min walk from Borough Market you also have Bermondsey St lined with a fabulaous selection of small, independent restaurants including Jose Pizzaro (legendary tapas), and Matlby St food market a little further down. Shopping: See my guide to Gluten Free Food Shopping for a comprehensive list of Borough free from traders to- buy- gluten- free- food- and- ingredients- in- london.php NORTH: Clerkenwell / Islington Romeo s GF Bakery & Café The best artisan fresh bread you will find, plus cakes, pastries, quiches plus a complete café menu stretching from egg benedict at brunch to simple sandwiches. The bread is that good. The Modern Pantry A really special place to eat, modern, seasonal food by previous Coleiac UK Food Ambassador Anna Hansden. Breakfast is a real treat. modern- pantry- gluten- free- eating- out- review/ Workshop Coffee Go here for brunch. This is the only branch of this top level coffee establishment that serves food and they make their own gluten free bread. French toast? Enough said. coffee- gluten- free- eating- out- review/ Niche New to the scene this now gluten free restaurant serves classics such as burgers, sausage and mash, pies and quiches. Simple and good food. Hummus Bros - Informal place to go for good GF food. Wide selection including authentic, thankfully flour- free, falafel with freshly made hummus, heaps of salad

3 and a choice of either gluten- free bread, carrot sticks or corn chips. Branches across the city. GB Pizza Co GF Bases made by legendary GF supper club host Annie, showcase the simple seasonal gourmet toppings. Gelupo ice cream available for dessert. Camden Feed Me Primal - Paleo street food stall with homemade, locally and ethically sourced gluten and grain- free lunches at markets around town. Meatballs served on herby cauli- rice, with colourful salads and unbelievably good gluten- free flatbreads. Louisanna Chilli Shack - New Orleans- inspired chilli using Cajun spice, jalapeño peppers and British meats, served either as a cottage pie, Chow style in a gluten- free bread bowl, or as nachos. Honest Burgers - Pioneers in gluten free burgers, and always keeping loyal gluten- free customers in mind as the menu and locations have grown, now everything except the normal burger bun is gluten free, including onion rings, specials, and even their new breakfast menu. burgers- eating- out- review/ The Truscott Arms Maida Vales, award winning gastro pub is the most gluten free friendly pub in town. GF bar food including scotch eggs, burgers and fish and chips, and a fine dining restaurant upstairs you will feel utterly spoilt. free- gathering- review- gf- beer- tasting/ Central Beyond Bread Baguettes, quiches, cakes and more from London s newest GF bakery about 5min walk from Goodge St tube. Flat Iron Simply the best steak, served with sides. A naturally gluten free menu all bar a couple of things. Sticks N Sushi Famous sushi and yakitori restaurant from Denmark cater brilliantly for gluten free customers. Simple food, elegantly presented and packed with flavour. Be blow away with how much you can have! Wimbledon, Canary Wharf, Covent Garden and Greenwich.

4 LEON If you haven t experienced this inclusive dining fast food chain, get there. Majority is GF and all the cakes are supplied by Honeybuns and therefore GF. Brilliant food! Terroirs French food and natural wine, right next to Trafalgar Square, this is the best of France in London. Much of the food is naturally GF. Hawksmoor With a new, simply labeled menu, this legendary steak restaurant is the best in town. Try the bone marrow! Branches across the city. Vinoteca Modeled on a wine shop that sells food, now with 5 restautants across the city, they serve simple bistro meals, many of which are naturally GF, such as duck breast, with chorizo and butter beans. Make sure you try their wines! La Polenteria Italian naturally GF polenta based family run restaurant in the heart of SOHO. KERB Roaming street food collective, find them regularly in King s Cross, Spitalfields and at the Gherkin, featuring many GF friendly vendors including HORN OK Please, What the Dickens, Ambriento tacos, and BBQ Lab. best- gluten- free- street- food.php WEST Roots & Bulbs One of the many positive health food places springing up it s a great stop for a green juice fix, GF wraps and cakes and snacks. Marylebone & South Kensington Pure Taste The Uks first paleo restaurant is a completely GF fine dining treat. taste- gluten- free- eating- out- review/ Duke of York Sq Market Feast on GF street food galore, including French Tartiflette, Jamaican, Peruvian, made in front of you soups, handmade sushi, fresh oysters and SO much more. best- gluten- free- street- food.php

5 Porridge Café Modeled on the Danish concept of pimped up porridge bowls, right through to lunch including savoury ones, you will find GF oats available and alternative grains. In the heart of Victoria station great en route! Tanya s Café A raw food café that demonstrates true innovation. The food is stunning and so good for you. And no gluten is on site! Whole Foods The Kensington flagship store is also a great place to eat out at lunch time. Eat first so you don t spend so much in the store!!! Gulp 26 Grains Taking bowls of comfort, both sweet and savoury based on nutritionally packed grains such as quinoa, rice and buckwheat. EAST Shoreditch Lyles - Super simple, seasonal exquisite food in a white industrial setting. Set menus at dinner mean you will need to give advance warning. But its worth it. I had the meal of my life there. gluten- free- eating- out- review/ Dishoom Based on Bombay cafes, these modern Indian restaurants have some fantastic authentic dishes and a labeled GF menu. Check out the awesome black dal. BIRD Fried, free range chicken that is gluten free. Seriously Amazing. Accompaniments include chips cooked separately, punchy sauces (such as gochujang Nashville hot and buttermilk ranch), salads, padron peppers, slaws and giant ice cream sundaes. Shutterbug Making galettes and pancakes with style, you can eat the gluten free buckwheat galettes any time of day and wash it down with cocktails and music. london.com/ Street Feast With food markets in Dalston yard, Shoreditch Yard and down south in Lewisham, you can find the city s best street food here, much of it GF friendly. With a rotating selection of trucks and vans, check direct to see who is there.
