3 NINE & WINE April and May Events Different Strokes Different Strokes is a new series that will involve exciting golf, tennis, and pool challenges each outing. Thursday, April 15th 5:30PM We will be melding the challenge and prestige of golf with the relaxing social aspect of a wine and beer tasting. Mixed couples of four will compete on nine holes in a superball format event whilst stopping at various stations throughout the course for tasty treats prepared by Chef Gil, matched perfectly with wine and beer options from our local wine representative. This event is open for men and women of all skill levels and age groups (over 21). Brady will be available for a free lesson at 5:00 pm for those beginners out there and you old pros as well. Couples and singles are welcome. The cost is $15 per person. See you on the links! JIMMY BUFFET the Tennis Facility Thursday, May 13th We ll have our awesome Margarita machine ready to go with 2 different flavors plus beer for those who prefer the unfrozen refreshments. 6 Pool News Swimming Lessons Swimming Lessons will be available from the Lifeguard Staff. Details will be posted at the pool or contact GCC at Pool Officially Opens May 27th! Swim Team Registration Summer is right around the corner, which means it is almost Swim Team season! This year looks to be another great season for the GCC Frogs. If your child(ren) is between the ages of 5-18 and would like to join us on the Swim Team, please contact Holt Humphreys at for more information. We will also hold Swim Team Registration at GCC on Thursday, May 13 at 5:30 pm. Stay for the Thursday Night Buffet and Kids Night! 9 Tennis News Men s Night Beginning March 15th the Tennis Shop will be organizing Monday Night Men s Night. Every Monday night the courts will be reserved for all Men to come out to play tennis and enjoy some discounted beer afterwards. Men s night starts at 6:30 till. There will be a short free clinic at 6:00 for all men who are looking to pick up a few tips before playing. Junior Clinics Beginning March 16th Junior Clinics will be in full SWING. Pirates Advanced players who can play full court tennis and compete in match play. (4:30-6:00 Tuesdays & Thursdays) $12 per session Buccaneers Intermediate players who can drill full court but require more work with technique and footwork. (3:30-4:30 Tuesdays & Thursdays) $10 per session Mates Beginning players who must play on a 36 foot court and use low compression tennis balls. (4:00-4:45 Wednesdays) $8 per session Ladies Clinics Beginning March 9th Ladies Clinics will be offered for ALL ladies of ALL abilities. Clinics will focus on drills, technique and footwork. Tuesdays 6:30pm-8pm Thursdays 9:30am-11am $12 per session Women s Team Practice Beginning March 8th the 3.5 Women s team practice will be every Monday morning from 9:30am-11:00am. Sessions will focus on strategy, doubles communication and consistency. $12 per session The Tennis Shop is focused on keeping you up to date with all activities going on. 10 Tennis News Junior Pizza Party On April 16th the Tennis Shop will be hosting a Junior Pizza Party from 6:00pm-9:00pm. Juniors will enjoy fun games and drills to help improve skill and technique while having a ball. The Tennis Shop encourages all kids to bring a friend to join in on the fun. This would be a great opportunity for parents to enjoy an evening of fine dining in the Greenville Country Club dining room. $20 per child Cardio Tennis Beginning March 9th Cardio tennis class will be held for those looking to burn calories and get in great tennis shape. Cardio tennis is a new, fun group activity featuring drills to give players of all abilities an ultimate, high energy workout. Cardio tennis includes a warm-up, cardio workout, and cool down phases. There are programs and drills geared for new and existing players to get a great cardio workout while improving skill. (Tuesdays 10:00am- 11:00am & Thursdays 7:00pm-8:00pm) $10 per session League The Coastal Plains League Season starts March 13th. We have 2 teams representing Greenville Country Club. I encourage everyone to come out and support all players during home matches. Call the Pro Shop for match dates Socials On March 26th & April 23rd the Tennis Shop will host an Adult social with lots of tennis, light snacks and beverages. The social will be a doubles competition where everyone plays a set with a different partner. At the end of the social we will tally up everyone s score and the winners will win a prize from the Pro Shop. $15 per person Pro Shop and Concessions The Tennis Shop is now fully stocked with a full pro shop with racquets, strings, grips and other accessories. Also, we have a fully stocked concession stand with soda, gatorade, water, beer and snacks. NO CASH? NO PROBLEM. We can charge your account so you can have all the items you need when you need them.
