1 CHEMICAL PRODUCTS CONTAINING DIMETHOATE OTHER THAN HOME GARDEN PRODUCTS PERMIT TO ALLOW THE USE OF REGISTERED PRODUCTS CONTAINING DIMETHOATE BEARING PREVIOUSLY APPROVED LABELS Explanatory note PERMIT NUMBER PER84247 On 6 March 2016 the APVMA varied the relevant particulars of the labels of all products containing dimethoate (other than home garden products) to create new, approved labels. If this permit were not issued, the use of these products bearing the earlier approved labels listed in Column 4 of Tables 1 and 2 below, would have been an offence in certain jurisdictions because the labels are not the currently approved labels. The supply of product bearing these earlier, previously approved labels must be in accordance with the instructions issued at the time of the label variations (APVMA Special Gazette 20 March 2017). This permit is issued under s112a of the AgVet Codes in the jurisdictions set out below. This permit allows the use of registered dimethoate products bearing labels with the specific approval numbers listed in Column 4 of Table 1 below, according to the instructions on the label attached to the product. The Table 1 includes only those label approvals that were registered at the time of the review decision in 2017, not any labels that had their approvals suspended at that time. This permit also allows the use of registered dimethoate products bearing labels with the specific approval numbers listed in Column 4 of Table 2 below, according to the instructions in this permit in addition to those on the label attached to the product. This permit also allows any person to claim that the products listed in Tables 1 and 2 below can be used in the manner specified in this permit. 4 ATTACHMENT 1: INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUPPLY AND USE OF CERTAIN PRODUCTS CONTAINING DIMETHOATE BEARING LABELS THAT WERE SUSPENDED READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS before using or otherwise handling the product. When using or otherwise handling the product, follow the instructions of the label except as follows: Prohibited Crop Uses The existing (suspended) label may include instructions for use on the crops listed below. The use of dimethoate on these crops is no longer approved and the following restraints apply. DO NOT USE as a post-harvest treatment for capsicums or tomatoes. DO NOT USE as a post-harvest quarantine treatment for capsicums or tomatoes. DO NOT USE on tomatoes grown in covered or protected situations such as glasshouses, green houses or plastic tunnels. DO NOT USE on cherry, grape or mini tomatoes DO NOT USE as a foliar, post harvest or quarantine treatment on: Tropical or subtropical edible peel fruit [babacos, carambolas (Five Corner), figs and edible peel varieties of guavas, kiwifruit and persimmons].
