1 GUIDELINES TO VALUE ADDITION OF FARM PRODUCTS In our strategy, we have stated that we shall establish marketing network for value added members products. Many have requested to know what value addition means, and we have to give some highlights on what value addition means. In general, value addition means adding value or treating a product in such a manner that its value is improved. For instance just washing tubers to render them clean improves their value. Packing them fresh with labeled clear materials is a more advanced method of value adding. Value adding costs money, but the money used is part of the cost of production, and is therefore reflected and recovered from the sale price. All members need to undergo some training on the ways they can add value to their products before they deliver them to the wholesaler or consumer. Training costs money, but ignorance costs more, therefore all members are encouraged to seek relevant training. MODERN PRODUCTION TECHNIQUES: PLANTS 1. CROPS 1.
