Last updated: Chateau Classification Price (12x75cl) ex duty & VAT Drinking guide Margaux Sirene de Giscours Margaux US ABOUT THIS WINE The 2015 La Sirene de Giscours is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc. It has a crisp, quite pure black cherry, raspberry coulis and cedar-scented bouquet that gently unfolds in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with good depth for a deuxième vin, the 30% new oak nicely integrated with good depth and grip on the graphite and spice-tinged finish. This is worth seeking out - the best La Sirène de Giscours to date, but those with a wise head will give it 2-3 years in bottle. Neal Martin, (92-93 James Suckling) Labegorce Margaux, Cru Bourgeois US ABOUT THIS WINE Originally one large estate, divided into three after the French revolution reunited by late owner Hubert Perrodo. The terroir is mostly sandy, gravel with some sand mixed with limestone. The wine is aged in 50% new French oak barrels for an average of 15 months. Average production cases. 2 Angludet Margaux Cru Bourgeois US ABOUT THIS WINE One of the best value Angludet releases since 2005 James Davy Very dark. Interesting peppery nose with real attack and vigour. Luscious fruit. Perhaps not the absolute concentration of a great long-term wine but should give lots of pleasure early. This third growth is really coming into its classification. Steven Spurrier, Decanter (91 pts, Decanter) du Tertre Margaux 5eme Cru Classe US ABOUT THIS WINE Fine briary fruit that is clear and well-structured with good density and nice lift on the finish. A classy wine. Steven Spurrier, Decanter (90 pts Decanter) Marquis d Alesme Becker Margaux, 3eme Grand Cru Classe US ABOUT THIS WINE The 2015 Marquis d'alesme Becker is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot and 7% Cabernet Franc that was cropped at 35 hl/ha between 28 September and 15 October. Matured in 65% new oak, it has a precocious bouquet with opulent violettinged cassis fruit that needs to find a little more delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannin, plenty of depth with a crisp line of acidity, with impressive density on the finish that would be enhanced with more precision. - Apr 2016, Neal Martin (91-93 pts RobertParker.com

3 Kirwan Margaux 3eme Cru Classe US ABOUT THIS WINE A classically structured Margaux showing old vines concentration ( S. Spurrier ), a great example of the value to be had in 2015, delicious medium to long term drinking. Awarded 17.5 pts by Jancis Robinson, which is high praise. A floral nose then showing all the class and natural old- vine concentration expected from Kirwan. A firmly classic wine. Has the classic Giscours charm with more weight than usual; will show very well. 5 Lagrange St Julien 3eme Cru Classe US ABOUT THIS WINE Fleshy, spicy red and black fruits of good florality and grip, with balanced acidity and tannins. Shows the continued progress of this highly regarded estate. Steven Spurrier, Decanter (92 pts Decanter) Langoa-Barton St Julien 3eme Cru Classe US ABOUT THIS WINE Fine fragrance and fruit: shows the purity and depth of a classic vineyard with nothing exaggerated. Discreet but full of character; in perfect balance. Steven Spurrier, Decanter (93 pts Tim Atkin) Gruaud-Larose St Julien 2eme Cru Classe US ABOUT THIS WINE Very fine florality and purity on first impression less of the meatiness of past vintages. The classic Gruaud-Larose smoothness is there along with added precision. Great attention to detail; a very fine claret. Steven Spurrier, Decanter (94 pts Decanter) Beychevelle St Julien 4eme Cru Classe US ABOUT THIS WINE Lots of depth and more complexity of fruit than usual more layered and better grip. 6 Leoville-Barton St Julien 2eme Cru Classe US ABOUT THIS WINE Fine concentration of fruit and lovely fragrance; quite discreet for this château. The controlled vigour of better vintages has been replaced by classic ripeness, integrated tannins and fine balance. Steven Spurrier, Decanter (94 pts Tim Atkin) Leoville-Poyferre St Julien 2eme Cru Classe US ABOUT THIS WINE Lovely concentration of fruit already showing excellent florality, purity and density. Robustly elegant in the Poyferré style juicy and silky, according to owner Didier Cuvelier. This is one for the long term. Steven Spurrier, Decanter (93 pts Tim Atkin) Leoville-Las Cases St Julien 2eme Cru Classe US ABOUT THIS WINE At 94% (85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Cabernet Franc) this is the highest-ever Cab content in this grand vin. Very dense at first but full of power and elegance, with lots of energy. Beautifully made, and seems more Pauillac than St-Julien. This will be a very great wine. 7 Marquis de Calon St Estephe US ABOUT THIS WINE Beautifully expressed fruit: ripe 57% Merlot with a lift from 10% Cabernet Franc. Wonderful purity and freshness and extremely elegant for St-Estèphe; a perfect second wine. Steven Spurrier, Decanter (91 pts Decanter) Ormes de Pez St Estephe Cru Bourgeois US ABOUT THIS WINE Good crunchy fruit that is more polished than in the past. A classic, harmonious and modern wine. Stephen Spurrier, Decanter (91 pts Tim Atkin) Lafon Rochet St Estephe 4eme Cru Classe US ABOUT THIS WINE More florality than usual on the lifted, gamey fruit. Less robust and more elegant than previous years; a very good wine from this château. Steven Spurrier, Decanter (94 pts Tim Atkin) Calon Segur St Estephe 3eme Cru Classe US ABOUT THIS WINE Really lovely bouquet: totally aromatic and full of finesse and restrained power. 8 Cos d Estournel St Estephe 2eme Cru Classe US ABOUT THIS WINE Rich fruit that is full of that classic exotic Cos spice, yet more restrained than in the past with a slatey graphite base. Beautifully put together; an exciting wine that will grow in complexity and flavour. Steven Spurrier, Decanter (95 pts Decanter) Pauillac Grand-Puy-Lacoste Pauillac 5eme Cru Classe US ABOUT THIS WINE Very good fragrance and florality the typical slatey, stony Grand-Puy-Lacoste style shows even more precision and grip than usual, with wonderful middle fruit richness. Will make a really classic claret. Steven Spurrier, Decanter (94 pts Decanter) Echo de Lynch Bages Pauillac US ABOUT THIS WINE Well-expressed, lightly concentrated black fruits with nice freshness to match the ripeness. A fine wine in a minor key. Steven Spurrier, Decanter (89 pts Decanter) Pedesclaux Pauillac 5eme Cru Classe US ABOUT THIS WINE A good, broad Cabernet cassis nose and palate that is nicely lifted. 9 Armailhac Pauillac 5eme Cru Classe US ABOUT THIS WINE Lovely florality, lifted fruit and silky tannins. This wine has got both broader and finer over the years and is now totally complete in the feminine d Armailhac style. Steven Spurrier, Decanter (92 pts Decanter) Pontet Canet Pauillac 5eme Cru Classe US ABOUT THIS WINE Deep, velvety texture on the palate and wild flowers on the nose; unctuous yet firm with pristine clarity. A great wine by any standards and the standards of Alfred Tesseron for his biodynamic vineyards and amphora-matured wine are magnificently evident. Steven Spurrier, Decanter (96 pts Decanter) Lynch-Bages Pauillac 5eme Cru Classe US ABOUT THIS WINE Superb nose of black fruits showing exuberant ripeness. It s very robust on the palate, a hallmark of Lynch-Bages, but a hint of silkiness and freshness remains. This has a good future ahead. Steven Spurrier, Decanter (94 pts Tim Atkin) Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande Pauillac 2eme Cru Classe US ABOUT THIS WINE Fragrance and depth on the nose but a sense of over-ripeness puts it out of step with the vintage at the moment even with the Comtesse lift and freshness. 10 Mouton Rothschild Pauillac 1er Cru Classe US ABOUT THIS WINE My joint top wine (with Ch Margaux) of the vintage. A real firework display but still controlled. Very rich on the palate: broad yet silky, earthy yet so refined. This is Mouton at a new peak and it s hard to imagine a better balance of elegance and power. Steven Spurrier, Decanter (98 pts Decanter) Haut-Medoc & Petit Chateau Brisson Cotes de Castillon US ABOUT THIS WINE Château Brisson is situated in Belvès de Castillon on the north bank of the Dordogne east of Saint-Emilion. Since 1980 the property has been owned by Paul Valade and comprises 18 hectares of mainly Merlot vines which average 30 years of age. Harvesting is done by hand. Yields are kept low and are strictly managed and everything possible is done to enhance the biodiversity of the soil. Winemaking includes pre-fermentation maceration at cool temperatures, gravity flow transfer, gentle pneumatic pressing and so on. The wines are aged in French oak barrels. Tour St Bonnet Haut-Medoc Cru Bourgeois US ABOUT THIS WINE A reliable cru bourgeois producing wines in a classic style, with 40 hectares under vine on gravelly croups. Wines are aged for 18 months in large oak foudres as opposed to barriques, contributing to the fresh, classic style. Light and fresh on the nose. Pretty light overall without the real flesh of the vintage. But clean and racy. Sandy finish. Jancis Robinson Moulin Rouge Haut Medoc US ABOUT THIS WINE Located between Margaux and St-Julien-Beychevelle, the vineyards lie over 18 hectares with vines averaging 40 years old. A classic Haut-Médoc.

11 Beaumont Haut-Medoc Cru Bourgeois US ABOUT THIS WINE Dark crimson. Light but very correct nose. Quite robust. Just a tad stodgy but everything is there. Chunky tannins on the end. Jancis Robinson (89 pts Decanter) Les Hauts-Conseillants Lalande de Pomerol US ABOUT THIS WINE Chateau les Hauts Conseillants is the dream of a tenacious man. In 1973, Leopold Figeac decided to restore the 4ha estate in Lalande de Pomerol. Later he purchased another 6 ha with his daughter and son in law. All his efforts have been justified since the Domaine is now well regarded in the appellation and is still run by his grand son Jean Baptiste Bourotte. Caronne St Gemme Haut-Medoc US ABOUT THIS WINE Fine fleshy, meaty fruit and good vineyard character. Quite St-Estèphe in style with good grip and a fine future. Steven Spurrier, Decanter (88 pts Decanter) Lanessan Haut-Medoc US ABOUT THIS WINE Lanessan is a benchmark for Haut-Médoc. Winemaker Paz Espejo has been in charge since 2009, the 45 hectares of vineyards adjoin AOC Saint-Julien, and average 40 years of age on average. Very expressive aromas of ripe, candied cherry, liquorice and fresh tobacco, tannins both soft but satisfyingly full. (88 pts Decanter, J. Suckling: / 100)

12 Cambon Le Pelouse Haut-Medoc US ABOUT THIS WINE One of the oldest producers of wine in the Haut-Medoc Back with a history dating back to the late 17 th Century. 35 hectares with around 30 years average, densely planted at 5,000 and 7,000 vines per hectare and grown on deep and gravelly soil. Cambon produces elegant wines with a bold colour but finesse on the nose, structured tannins and good length. Classy cassis fruit with real smoothness and nice length. Has both polish and grip Steven Spurrier, Decanter (16.5 pts /20 Jancis Robinson) Mauvesin Barton Moulis-en-Medoc US ABOUT THIS WINE Fresh, floral fruit: a light wine from young vines but showing lift and charm. Steven Spurrier, Decanter (87 pts Decanter) Chasse Spleen Moulis-en-Medoc US ABOUT THIS WINE One of the leading Moulis estate, this wine shows the usual characters of a Chasse Spleen: full bodied and deep in colour, ripe black fruits, full bodied with a long finish. Suckling / 100) Cantemerle Haut Medoc US ABOUT THIS WINE The offers plenty of blackberry and raspberry fruit on the nose, not the best defined that I encountered among the Haut-Médocs, but with plenty of "stuffing." The palate is medium-bodied with supple red and black fruit on the entry matched with a fine thread of acidity. There is a pleasing crescendo in the mouth driven by that Merlot content and it finishes with some swagger., Neal Martin (90-92 pts Neal Martin)

13 Pessac-Leognan & Graves Olivier Rouge Pessac-Leognan US ABOUT THIS WINE Olivier s winemaker and director Laurent Lebrun visited us in March, his presentation of his wines was one of the most impressive we have seen, exploring the terroirs of this estate and taking it to new levels. Power and poise of rich, muscular tannic frame for good ageing potential. Continuing the more serious expression of Olivier over last few years, begun with the inclusion of the new Bel Air plot of vines that represents 30% of the blend. (93 pts Decanter) Larrivet Haut-Brion Pessac-Leognan US ABOUT THIS WINE Rich dark chocolate and damson coulis nose fruit over finesse. It s a touch heavy with the ripe fruit but still very pleasurable. 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc. Jane Anson, Decanter (95 pts Decanter) Malartic Lagraviere Grand Cru Classe de Graves US ABOUT THIS WINE Dark, rich, serious, well-extracted fruit; firm but with just the right pressure on the pedal. One that will age very well, continuing a run of strong vintages here. Cinnamon and black pepper spice from 7% Petit Verdot increasingly common in Pessac-Léognan. 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc, 80% new oak. Jane Anson, Decanter (93 pts Decanter) Domaine de Chevalier Pessac-Leognan Grand Cru Classe US ABOUT THIS WINE Sexy burnish of charcoal-grilled rich black cherry fruit with firmly held tannins. A lovely wine fairly high powered compared to some; this is one to cellar for a while. 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, 2% Cabernet Franc, 33% new oak. 14 Pape Clement Pessac-Leognan SOLD OUT Released on 9 th May and liable to be one of the most interesting releases of the campaign. The 09 was recently re-tasted and re-scored by Parker and awarded 100 points. This release seems to be at a reasonable price to previous years...hence offering value? (95 pts Decanter) La Mission Haut-Brion Pessac-Leognan US ABOUT THIS WINE Taut and tense from the off: coffee, smoky almond and pulsing with vibrancy and energy. Reservations over the high alcohol at 15.1%abv but 3.74pH means you barely feel it. Such beautiful tannic grip and sense of forward motion, showing great ageing potential. Beautiful length of damson and loganberry fruits and fragrant heather and garden herbs. Lovely texture, structured and tannic hold. 78% new oak. Jane Anson, Decanter (96 pts Decanter) Haut-Brion Pessac-Leognan Grand Cru Classe US ABOUT THIS WINE The Graves wine of the vintage (along with Haut-Bailly). Taking the highest proposition of first wine (55%) for several years and a good yield of 45hl/ha. The fruit and tannins reached full and perfect ripeness and the structure shows incredible cohesion, easily approaching the quality of the 2010 but with softer tannins. Beautifully complete with great integrity of coffee grounds and rich damson fruit. Opens up in the glass, the personality and complexity ripples through. A touch lower alcohol than La Mission at 14.9%abv and with 3.73pH for fresh balance. 58% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc and 78% new oak. May well be scored upwards when in bottle. 15 St Emilion Clos L Oratoire St Emilion Grand Cru Classe US RE THIS WINE Ripe and aromatic with a smooth texture and fine tannins. Little more length than usual thanks to the vintage and 10% Cabernet Franc. Delicious. James Lawther MW, Decanter (89 pts Decanter) La Dominique St Emilion Grand Cru Classe US ABOUT THIS WINE Dense, ripe and full. Dark fruit and spice notes with a touch of creamy oak. Generous fruit on the mid-palate. Powerful and driving on the finish. Good length and tension. Harmonious. The palate is harmonious and poised with a velvety texture showing maturity and freshness. Fruit very much to the fore backed by fine-grained tannins and a persistent finish. Beautifully fragrant with dark fruit, spice and floral notes. Plentiful but fine tannins provide a velvety texture and there s great persistence on the finish. 16 Pomerol Chateau La Croix du Casse Pomerol US RE THIS WINE A lighter Pomerol but well defined this year. Sweet Merlot (91%) but fresh and structured with line and length. The best yet from this sand- and gravel-based estate. The palate is fresh, fragrant and caressing, then powerful tannins provide plenty of length and drive on the finish. (92 pts Decanter) L Evangile Pomerol US ABOUT THIS WINE After the slightly leaner 2014, this is a full-bodied, rich, opulent Evangile with a powerful presence of ripe tannin and freshness provided by the 16% Cabernet Franc. Weighty but refined and with staying power. James Lawther MW, Decanter (94 pts Decanter) L Eglise Clinet Pomerol US ABOUT THIS WINE TBC Only 4.2ha. 90% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc. Seductive fruit and aroma. Inhabitual fragrance at the en primeur stage. Floral, berry fruit and chocolate notes. Voluptuous fruit hides the power of ripe tannins behind. Medium sweet and a tangy finish. James Suckling (89-90 pts James Suckling) Coutet Barsac US ABOUT THIS WINE Very rich, deep aromas of lemon verbena, peach, cinnamon; enticing. Rich, dense and suave palate, with a honeyed richness to the spicy, fresh citrus and apple jelly flavours. A large-scaled Coutet showcasing a hint of passerillage (dried grapes).
