2 Welcome to The Lord Alfred; a classic, reimagined. Here at The Lord Alfred we have reinvigorated our beverage offering to provide a selection of cocktails, wines, beers & ciders as well as a small selection of apperitifs and digestifs, to suit any mood or occasion. Our wine list has been developed to take you on a scenic journey through some of Australia s oldest and most successful vineyards. We have been careful not to be too obscure, selecting well known classic varietals that have been repeatedly awarded by sommeliers, as well as a range of wines that are less known and have become some of our personal favourites. Our wines are carefully stored and nurtured to ensure they arrive on your table as their maker would want. Here at The Lord Alfred we like to think of ourselves as pioneers. Our aim is to share some of the benefits of wine on tap, how it can be fresher, greener and less of a carbon footprint for our industry. Following research and expert advice we have made a considerable investment to introduce our customers to this new world phenomenon. Good tasting wine will come down to two things. Firstly, having a good quality wine. The Lord Alfred has chosen to serve high quality wine through our taps, available due to the fact that many more wineries are making as much of their wine available on tap as possible. Secondly, the wine has to be fresh. That means it must be treated correctly to avoid over-oxidization or overheating. Kegged wine actually makes this a lot easier, as the wine never touches air or gas until it is about to be served to a customer, with the keg less susceptible to variations in temperature. Wine on tap eliminates bottles left sitting around already open, or being stored incorrectly. We hope you enjoy your first tap wine with us, or wander through our full wine and drinks offering and find that something else to suit.
