I have dedicated my entire life s work to one audacious dream: To produce world renowned wines in a sustainable manner in British Columbia s Okanagan Valley and showcase them at a landmark winery, one that would survive for generations, even centuries. Family Estate Winery Situated in the heart of British Columbia s Okanagan Valley, was named Canadian Winery of the Year at the 2011 International Wine and Spirits Competition. I could have chosen Napa or Washington State, even Tuscany as the backdrop for my vision. Instead I opted to pioneer what was, in 1981, a little known wine appellation in my native province of British Columbia. I truly believed that with time, investment and hard work, the vineyards in the Okanagan Valley would yield stylish, classically-inspired New World wines. With my family by my side, I set out to make my dream a reality. WHAT IS YOUR WINEMAKING PHILOSOPHY? At Family Estate, our winemaking philosophy is simple. We believe that what happens in the vineyard determines what happens in the bottle. It s about growing the best grapes under the best possible conditions. It s about being relentless in the pursuit of quality which is why we farm more than 85% of our own grapes in our own vineyards right here in the Okanagan Valley. Chris Botti and his incredible band have performed with many of the finest symphonies at some of the world s most prestigious venues; the intimate concert at s winery outdoor amphitheatre marks Botti s first ever concert appearance Since the release of his 2004 critically acclaimed CD When I Fall in Love, Chris Botti has become the largest selling American jazz instrumental artist. His success has crossed over to audiences usually reserved for pop music and has led to four #1 Jazz Albums, as well as multiple Gold, Platinum & Grammy Awards. Over the past three decades, he has recorded and performed with the best in music; including Sting, Josh Groban, Michael Buble, Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell, John Mayer and Andrea Bocelli.
