Editor: Deb Dutton, CEO, ddutton@rembrandtliving.org.au The Windmill Rembrandt Court Issue 114-5 February 2018 Home Care Hub 1 Madras Street, Oaklands Park SA 5046 21 Greenfields Drive, Green Fields SA 5107 Ph. 8198 0300 The weekly newsletter of Rembrandt Living Ph. 8198 0300 EDITORIAL Welcome to another issue of The Windmill. I trust families had a safe and happy holiday break and it is now back to business for some and back to school for others. This is an opportune time to remind motorists to slow down, stay alert and stay off of their mobile phones, especially in those areas where children and the elderly are present and please exercise extreme caution driving near school zones and aged care residential facilities! Facebook Do you want to keep up to date with the happenings across Rembrandt Living Like Us on Facebook. Tell your friends and family too! LIFESTYLE Birthdays in January and February: Happy Birthday to the following residents: 1 February Margaret Goddard 6 February Max Price 10 February Anna Mandziak 10 February Pieter Venema 13 February Anna Persello 18 February Lucy de Wolf 19 February Petronella van Gerven 20 February Leelo Petersen 20 February Trudy Reiter 23 February Joe Leeuwrik Resident Feedback This week s Residents Meeting held on Wednesday 31 January was attended by 2 residents and 2 staff members. The following was discussed: Residents believe that the thermostat in H7 is too close to a warm area such as, the kitchen and the elevator which is why the airconditioner is working harder and makes the dining room, very cold. Maintenance to investigate. Residents enjoying the menu although the chicken skewers today were a little dry. Other than that the hospitality services are very good. FOR YOUR INFORMATION Rembrandt Living Postal Address Please address mail for residents or management direct to Rembrandt Living, 1 Madras Street, Oaklands Park SA 5046. Safekeeping of valuables A friendly reminder to residents and families, we encourage residents not to keep valuables such as large amounts of cash, jewellery, passports and bankbooks at Rembrandt Court. It is strongly recommended that families take possession of these items for safe keeping. Pick n Take As a result of an internal site tidying, clean up and clear out, a large disposal skip will be placed in the back car park (in the area of the yellow lines) on Friday, 9 February. Residents, staff and families are welcome to pick and take any items prior to their disposal strictly between 10am and 12pm first come first serve! Items must be taken at the time as we do not have storage facility. Any items taken by residents are to be kept in residents rooms not in common areas. Pick n Take items will include such items as picture frames and various items of furniture as is. VOLUNTEERS - WE NEED YOU! Do you love a chat? The social connections we make via simple conversations can mean a lot. Not every resident has regular visitors and companionship in a group environment can improve a person s self esteem and overall wellbeing. We also seek volunteers to assist our lifestyle team with residents activities, outings or assist in the Rembrandt Court Kleine Café. By generously giving your passion, energy and expertise as a volunteer, you can help us continue to enrich the lives of our residents.. Further information can be obtained by contacting Nicoline

And what a good job Scott Farquharson is doing. A selection of photos of some lovely Rembrandt Court residents at their chosen activity.
