A little background about Decameron The restaurant is named after Giovanni Boccaccio's book "DECAMERON" which means "the ten days". It is about 10 characters, 7 women and 3 men, who go to a remote villa and exchange stories every day, for 10 days. 100 Stories were told and compiled into the book "Decameron". It is all about the good life; eroticism, happy and tragic love and adventure. Boccaccio's collection of stories is the inspiration for this restaurant, the atmosphere and taste of the good life Mario Ladu opened Decameron Restaurant the 4 th October 1987. Since then, he has run the business and built up an enormous variety of clientele. In 2006 the restaurant was closed due to the demolition and renovation of the entire building. Mario reopened in June 2010. After more than 2 decades of established success, Decameron is known not only for its traditional Italian recipes but for its warm "homely" atmosphere, where customers are treated like family. During busy hours, when placing Pizza or Al Forno orders, please allow a preparation time of 1 hour For groups of 6 or more, gratuity of 10% will be added to the account Corkage fee of R40 per bottle
