An Independently run 17th Century Coaching Inn Bristol & District CAMRA - Pub of the Year 2009 The New Inn was originally built as a rest-stop for travellers on the road north from Bristol via Chipping Sodbury. This lovely 17th Century inn has a unique, unspoilt, rustic charm. It is a superb example of a historic coaching inn and the hospitality afforded to those early passengers and coachmen is as equally generous today. The inn s fine range of well kept ales, good homely food and conviviality is popular with locals and also attracts visitors from Bristol and beyond. A plaque bearing the date 1655 was discovered above the fireplace in an upstairs room and is now on display on the wall of the bar. Although renovated and sympathetically modernised many fittings and the unevenness of the floors and ceilings ensure that much of the New Inn s over 400 year old character remains. Our aim is to provide a warm welcome and comfortable surroundings with good home cooked food and quality drinks at a fair price. We welcome comment whether compliment or constructive criticism. Our meals are cooked to order with most of the dishes being prepared in house so there may be delays during busy periods - but we will endeavour to inform you of this at the time of ordering if we feel the wait may be longer than you would reasonably anticipate. No service charge is added - this is left entirely to your discretion, but be assured that any gratuities received (including those on credit/debit cards) go to the staff themselves NOT the company.
