2 Overview For over 28 years, the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities has been publishing its quarterly magazine under the name Louisiana Cultural Vistas. Writers like Ernest Gaines, Walter Isaacson, and Wynton Marsalis stand out among the bylines. Photographs by Michael P. Smith, Ralston Crawford, and Syndey Byrd jump off the pages. Artwork from the likes of Sister Gertrude Morgan and John Scott add to the rich visuals. With so many diverse but exceptional contributors, it s no wonder that we re the recipient of more than 160 awards from the Press Club of New Orleans. We re proud of our rich history and unparalleled content, but it felt like the right time to change up our name and look. This fall, we re relaunching as 64 Parishes.

3 The Mission of 64 Parishes Louisiana is complicated. From the delta to the neutral strip, we change shapes, add flavors, and remix sounds. Genius runs deep in the fields and bayous, and every generation of Louisianans emerges with new views on what it means to be from here. People gravitate to Louisiana from around the world. We have food, fortitude, tragedies, and creativity for days, but you need to listen closely. 64 Parishes believes that every corner of Louisiana has something to say. We work with writers, artists, and communities to tell stories that explore our past and reflect on our present, stories that are all about Louisiana.

They support cultural organizations, care about preserving architecture and historic landmarks, celebrate Louisiana s activists, artists and culture bearers, and are eager to experience and preserve their heritage and traditions.
