3 AFTERBURNER COCKTAIL RECIPE AFTERBURNER 1 shot Sambuca 1 shot Absinthe 1 shot Ouzo This is a sure fire way of getting your party spirit kicked into gear. Mix together in a small tumbler. If youre feeling brave you can set fire to it, but make sure the flame is out before you down it. Expect tears. Page 3

4 ALABAMA SLAMMER COCKTAIL RECIPE ALABAMA SLAMMER COCKTAIL RECIPE 1 shot Southern Comfort 1 shot amaretto 1 shot sloe gin Half a lemon Ice Mix all the liquor in a shaker then pour into a large tumbler over ice and add the juice of half a lemon. Page 4

5 ALEXANDRA COCKTAIL RECIPE ALEXANDRA 1 shot creamed coconut 1 shot single cream 1 shot Tia Maria 1 shot white rum Ice Place all the ingredients in a cocktail mixer and shake well. Serve in a cocktail glass straight up or in a highball over ice. Page 5

6 ALLIGATOR COCKTAIL RECIPE ALLIGATOR COCKTAIL RECIPE 1 shot orange liquor 1 shot brandy 2 shots dry vermouth Lemonade Juice of half a lime Ice Pour the liquor, brandy and vermouth into a large glass over ice and stir. Add lemonade and finish with a topping of lime juice. Page 6

7 ANY PORT IN A STORM COCKTAIL RECIPE ANY PORT IN A STORM 3 shots ruby port wine 1shot tequila 1shot scotch 1 shot vodka Pour the port into a large wine glass. Ad the other ingredients and stir well. This one has a real kick... hence the storm bit in its name. Page 7

8 ASS WHIPPER COCKTAIL RECIPE ASS WHIPPER 1 shot peach schnapps 5 shots absinthe 1 shot vodka 2 shots gin 4 ice cubes Not for the faint of heart and certainly not something you should start an evening on. Mix the ingredients in a shaker, filter into a well chilled glass and fasten your seat belt. Page 8

9 AVALANCHE COCKTAIL RECIPE AVALANCHE 2 shots vodka 2shots Kahula 2 shots cream Using a well chilled glass pour the vodka, then the Kahula and the cream in layers. The effect in the glass as you drink it is that of the titular avalanche. Page 9

10 BAHAMA MUMA COCKTAIL RECIPE BAHAMA MUMA 2 shots white rum 2 shots coconut rum Orange juice Pineapple juice 1 shot Grenadine Cherry Orange slice In a frozen glass pour the white rum followed by the coconut rum. Top up with equal measures of orange and pineapple juice. Add Grenadine and garnish with the orange and cherry. Page 10

11 BIG ORGASM - COCKTAIL RECIPE BIG ORGASM - COCKTAIL RECIPE 2 shots Butterscotch Schnapps 1 shot Amaretto 1 shot vodka 1 shot Baileys 1 shot Spanish brandy 1 teaspoon of soft brown sugar Soda water Ice cubes 1 generous tablespoon of vanilla ice cream Frozen grated chocolate Put all the liquid ingredients into a cocktail mixer with a good amount of soda and three ice cubes. Shake very well. Strain into a large tumbler containing the ice cream and sprinkle chocolate and brown sugar on top. Page 11

12 BLACK RUSSIAN COCKTAIL RECIPE BLACK (WHITE) RUSSIAN 3 shots vodka 2 shots Kahlua Coke or Pesi to top up (or milk) Ice You should use a shaker but to be honest you can get away with stirring this. Its the real deal and the above amounts can vary depending on taste and required effect. This one will give you a satisfying kick without you having to drink too much mixer. If you use milk youll have a white Russian a la The Big Lebowski, which is arguably a much nicer drink. So mix the vodka and Kahlua and pour it over half a highball glass of ice. Stir it all together before topping up with the Cola or Milk. Do not stir again. This way the intensity of the flavour increases as you sip it, which is a very pleasant experience. Page 12

13 BRASS MONKEY COCKTAIL BRASS MONKEY COCKTAIL 2 shots dark rum 2 shots vodka Orange juice for topping up 3 ice cubes Thought it would be fitting to include a cocktail with nautical conotations for a change. This is dead easy to make and has one hell of a kick. The rums and vodka should be poured over the ice into a highball glass. Then top up with orange juice a stir briefly. Page 13

14 CARIBBEAN - COCKTAIL RECIPE CARIBBEAN 2 shots vodka 2 shots coconut liquor 2 shots grapefruit juice 3 shots pineapple juice Ice Put two ice cubes in a cocktail shaker. Add all the other ingredients and shake well. Pour over ice in a chilled highball glass. Page 14

15 CHERRY BOMB COCKTAIL RECIPE CHERRY BOMB 2 shots Kahlua 2 shots Rum Creme 1 shot Creme de Bananes 1 shot Cherry Brandy Simplicity itself. Chill a tumbler and pour the ingredients in one after the other then drink without stirring. Page 15

16 DAQUIRI COCKTAIL RECIPE DAQUIRI 3 shots of white rum Crushed ice The juice of 2 limes 1 teaspoon of sugar syrup Put all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker and shake well. Strain the cocktail into a chilled cocktail glass and add a slice of lime to decorate. Page 16

17 DEATH BY ALCOHOL COCKTAIL RECIPE DEATH BY ALCOHOL 1 shot tequila 1 shot vodka 1 shot orange juice 3 shots cider 1 shot white rum 1 shot lemon juice 1 shot grapefruit juice white cane sugar Slice of orange Slice of lemon Mix all the liquids in a cocktail shaker with crushed ice. Coat the rim of the glass with sugar before pouring. Add the fruit slices for decoration and buckle up. Page 17

18 DETOX COCKTAIL RECIPE DETOX 2 shots peach schnapps (ice cold) 2 shots cranberry juice 2 shots vodka (frozen) Using a chilled tumbler first pour the peach schnapps. Add the cranberry juice by pouring it gently over the back of a spoon so it floats. The vodka is then added using the same method leaving the cranberry juice sandwiched between the spirits. Looks impressive but really doesnt do what it says on the tin! Page 18

19 DIRTY SOUTH COCKTAIL RECIPE DIRTY SOUTH 1 shot black Sambuca 1 shot Baileys Irish Cream 1 shot Butterscotch Schnapps In a large shot glass pour the black Sambuca then the Baileys, then the Butterscotch schnapps in layers. The name comes from the drink looking like dirty water. Page 19

20 DUNDEE - COCKTAIL RECIPE DUNDEE COCKTAIL RECIPE 2 shots of gin 1 shot of scotch 1 shot Drambuie Juice of half a lemon Pour all the ingredients into a mixer with ice and shake well. Strain into a tumbler and garnish with a twist of lemon rind. Page 20

21 EASTER BUNNY COCKTAIL RECIPE EASTER BUNNY COCKTAIL RECIPE 1 shot vodka 1 shot blue Curacao 1 shot Baileys 1 shot chocolate liquor The juice of half a lime Ice tsp of sugar Shake all the ingredients together in a cocktail mixer until ice cold. Strain into a tumbler over ice and a slice on lime and drink through a straw. Page 21

22 EASY RIDE COCKTAIL RECIPE EASY RIDE 2 shots peach schnapps 2 shots vodka 3 shots sparkling water 2 shots apple juice 2 shots pear juice ice Mix all the ingredients well in a shaker and pour over ice. Page 22

23 EXOTICA COCKTAIL RECIPE EXOTICA 1 shot sweet vermouth 1 shot campari 1shot gin lemonade Ice cubes Fill a tumble 2/3 with ice cubes and add the liquors one at a time. Top up with a drop lemonade if desired or you want to turn it into a long drink. Page 23

24 FLIRTINI COCKTAIL RECIPE FLIRTINI - COCKTAIL RECIPE 2 shots of vodka 3 shots of pineapple juice 1 glass of champagne Pour vodka over ice in a tall chilled glass. Add the pineapple juice then top up with champagne. Page 24

25 FOUR HORSEMEN COCKTAIL RECIPE FOUR HORSEMEN 1 shot Jim Bean 1 shot Jack Daniels 1 shot Johnnie Walker 1 shot Jose Cuervo Gold Mix well in a shaker and pour into a large shot glass before slamming. Make sure you have a chair handy! Page 25

26 FUNKY MONKEY - COCKTAIL RECIPE FUNKY MONKEY 1 shot green chartreuse 1 shot Galliano Juice of half a lime 2 shots orange juice Ginger beer Shake the liquors, lime juice and orange juice with ice and strain into a tall glass. Top up with cold ginger beer. Page 26

27 GRASSHOPPER - COCKTAIL RECIPE GRASSHOPPER 1 shot crme do menthe 1 shot Baileys Irish Cream 1 shot Crme de Cacao glass of milk Cocoa powder or grated chocolate Mix all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Pour into a tall class and sprinkle with cocoa powder or grated chocolate. Page 27

28 GRATEFUL DEAD COCKTAIL RECIPE GRATEFUL DEAD COCKTAIL RECIPE 1 shot Chambord Juice of a lime Juice of a lemon Juice of a large orange Teaspoon of soft brown sugar 1 shot triple sec 1 shot tequila 1 shot rum (White or dark, you choose) 1 shot gin 1 shot vodka ice Put a few ice cubes in a substantially tall glass (some recipes recommend a pint glass) then add the ingredients in the order above. In winter you can drink it without the ice. Page 28

29 GREEK LOVER COCKTAIL RECIPE GREEK LOVER 1 shot ouzo 1 shot amaretto 1 shot whiskey 1 shot vodka Ice Put all the ingredients in a mixer and shake well. Page 29

30 HALLOWEEN COCKTAIL VOODOO CHILD COCKTAIL RECIPE Ok its Halloween night, and the Harbourguides crew use any excuse to have a party, so tonight will be no exception. We have chosen the Voodoo Child Cocktail Just follow the recipe below, and don t worry if you can t get all the ingredients, just improvise, and let us know how you went on. So here we go: Put.75 oz each of Dark Rum, White Rum, St Germaine Elderflower Liquer, and Cointreau into a cocktail shaker. Add 1 oz of freshly squeezed grapefruit juice, a dash of Angostura Bitters, and half a dozen dashes of chili tincture, or a light bodied hot sauce (Follow the link below on how to make a tincture) add some ice and give it a good old shake for 20 seconds or so. Stain into tumbler over some ice. And then of course enjoy! If you don t have the time or effort to make the tincture just add some hot sauce, maybe tabasco to the drink, or even into the ice cubes, this way the heat sort of builds up as the ice melts. 31 HALLOWEEN COCKTAIL RECIPE MUCHO MOJO This ones especially for Halloween to get all the voodoo children at it. Mix all the spirits in a shaker with ice. Filter into a tall glass of ice. Add the lime juice and top up with lemonade. 2 shots mescal 2 shots white rum 1 shot over-proof dark rum 1 shot white tequila Juice of half lime Lemonade Enjoy!!!! Page 31

32 HANTU BANYU COCKTAIL RECIPE HANTU BANYU COCKTAIL RECIPE 2 shot Jack Daniels 6 shots dry white wine 1 shot Blues Curacao 1 shot gin 1 shot vodka 1 shot tequila Shake all the ingredients well and pour over ice in a tall glass. Hantu Banyu means River of Evil in Indonesian. Need we same more? Page 32

33 HARVEY WALLBANGER COCKTAIL HARVEY WALLBANGER 3 shots of quality vodka 1 shot Galliano Fresh orange juice Ice cubes 1 slice of orange Pour the vodka in a shaker with a hand full of ice and half fill with orange juice. Shake like mad for about 30 seconds. Put a few ice cubes in a tall glass and pour the mixture over it. The Galliano should be poured slowly on top so it floats and the orange slice should be used to decorate. Page 33

34 HARVEY WALLBANGER RECIPE HARVEY WALLBANGER 2 shots Vodka 1 shot Galliano 4 shots orange juice 6 ice cubes 1 slice of orange Mix the vodka, orange juice and three ice cubes for 30 seconds with a cocktail shaker. Place the remaining ice in a glass and strain the picture over the top. Float the Galliano on top and decorate with a slice of orange. Page 34

35 HAWIIAN PUNCH COCKTAIL RECIPE HAWIIAN PUNCH 1 shot amaretto 2 shots Southern Comfort 2 shots Vodka 1 shot grenadine Dash Lemon juice Dash Lime juice Dash Orange juice Soda water Pour all the ingredients into a shaker over ice, topping up with soda water. Shake well. Strain into a tall glass and add a slice each of lemon, lime and orange. Page 35

36 IRISH HEADLOCK COCKTAIL RECIPE IRISH HEADLOCK 1 shot amaretto 1 shot Baileys Irish Cream 1 shot brandy 1 shot Irish whiskey This is simplicity itself but should be done with care. You also need a largish shot glass. Starting with the whiskey slowly pour each shot into the glass into layers. It is a taste and texture explosion. Page 36

37 IRISH MONKEY COCKTAIL RECIPE IRISH MONKEY 1 shot banana liquor 1 shot Baileys Irish Cream 2 Shots Jamesons Whiskey 3 ice cubes Pour the banana liquor onto a chilled tumbler. Add the Irish Cream. Add the ice and drzzled the Whiskey over the top. Page 37

38 JAILBREAK COCKTAIL RECIPE JAILBREAK 1 shot kahlua 1 shot Jack Daniels 1 shot amereto 3 shots Guinness 3 shots cola Put the Guinness and cola in a large wine glass. Mix the rest of the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and pour over the Guinness and cola. Do not stir Page 38

39 JOLLY GREEN GIANT COCKTAIL RECIPE JOLLY GREEN GIANT 1 shot white rum 1 shot gin 1 shot Galliano 1 shot Blue Curacao 1 shot tequila Put all the ingredients into a shaker with ice and mix well before straining into a highball glass. You may only need one! Page 39

40 JUICY JULIE COCKTAIL RECIPE JUICY JULIE COCKTAIL RECIPE 2 shots of vodka 1 shot of peach schnapps Passion fruit juice Pineapple juice Fresh lime Crushed ice Mix the vodka schnapps passion fruit juice and pineapple juice according you whether you want a quick kick or a long smooth drink. Shake it well. Get a large tumbler from the freezer and put crushed ice in. Pour the cocktail onto the ice and squeeze lime juice over it. Page 40

41 KAMIKAZE COCKTAIL RECIPE KAMIKAZE 1 Shot vodka 1 Shot white rum 1 Shot gin 1 Shot triple sec Large Shot lime juice Crushed ice Mix all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake well. Pour into tall glass. Drink through a straw. Page 41

42 KILT LIFTER COCKTAIL RECIPE Kilt Lifter Cocktail Recipe 1 shot Drambuie 1 shot Cuorvoisier 1 shot single malt Scotch 1 shot Irish whiskey Ice Half fill a tumbler with ice and add the liquor one at a time slowly. Can be stirred but its more exciting if you just let it fuse as you drink it. Page 42

43 LONDON QUEEN COCKTAIL RECIPE LONDON QUEEN 1 shot dry vermouth 1 shot peach schnapps 1 shot golden rum 1shot orange juice ice Pour all the ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake until cold and strain into a small tumbler. Page 43

44 LONG ISLAND ICED TEA RECIPE LONG ISLAND ICED TEA 1 shot triple sec 1 shot white rum 1 shot gin 1 shot tequila 1 shot vodka 1 shot lemon juice Coca Cola Ice Mix the alcoholic ingredients in a cocktail shaker and strain into a tall glass filled with ice cubes. Add lemon juice and top up with Coke. Page 44

45 MAD HATTER COCKTAIL RECIPE MAD HATTER COCKTAIL RECIPE 2 shots vodka 1 shot peach schnapps 1 shot Cointreau 1 shot Bacardi 1 shot mango juice Pour all the ingredients into a cocktail mixer and shake with ice before straining into a chilled glass. Drink and go mad! Page 45

46 MAI TAI COCKTAIL RECIPE MAI TAI 1 shot white rum 1 shot orgeat 1 shot dark rum 1 shot triple sec 2 shots Malibu 1 shot grenadine 6 shots pineapple juice Ice You may need a lot of ingredients but its dead simple so make. Simply pour all the ingredients into an 8oz glass over the ice. Do not stir that way it changes slightly with every sip. Page 46

47 MAI TAI COCKTAIL RECIPE 2 MAI TAI 1 shot white rum 1 shot Orgeat 1 shot dark rum 1 shot triple sec 6 shots pineapple juice Dash of grenadine 2 shots Malibu Mix everything but the pineapple juice well in a shaker. Strain over ice into a highball glass and top up with pineapple juice. Page 47

48 MARGARITA COCKTAIL RECIPE MARGARITA 1 shot of Tequila 1 shot of Triple sec 1 lime juice Salt Cracked ice Slightly wet the rim of a cocktail glass dip in salt to frost it. Shake the other ingredients together and strain into the class. Page 48

49 MEDUSA COCKTAIL RECIPE MEDUSA 1 shot Southern Comfort 1 shot white rum 1 shot Blue Curacao 1 shot peach schnapps 1 shot lime juice 1 shot grenadine Lemonade Put all the ingredients except the lemonade in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake for 10 seconds. Pour into a tall glass over crushed ice and top up with lemonade. The drink should be dark green. Page 49

50 MEXICAN FURY - COCKTAIL RECIPE MEXICAN FURY - COCKTAIL RECIPE 1 of shot hot sauce (Tabasco, Crystal, Roosters whatever you prefer) 2 shots of tequila 2 shots of black sambuca Half a fresh lime sliced Ice Mix the hot sauce and the liquor in a shaker with ice. Put the lime in a tall glass with crushed ice and mix it together. Pour the cocktail into the glass and drink with caution. Page 50

51 MINT JULEP COCKTAIL RECIPE MINT JULEP Plenty of crushed ice 1 teaspoon sugar syrup 3 shots bourbon Fresh mint leaves Put ice, mint leaves and syrup into a tumbler and mash together thoroughly. Pour over the bourbon and place a couple of mint leaves on to decorate Page 51

52 MOJITO COCKTAIL RECIPE MOJITO 2 shots white rum 1 shot lime juice Soda water Ten fresh mint leaves Ice Slice of lime 1 teaspoon white sugar Put the mint into a glass and sprinkle it with the sugar. Roughly mash this together. Pour over the rum and lime juice. Add a handful of ice and top up with soda. Stir slightly and drink through a straw. Page 52

54 NEW DECADE SMACK COCKTAIL RECIPE NEW DECADE SMACK 1 shot vodka 2 shots gold Bacardi 1 shot amaretto 1 can of Red Bull 1 slice of Lemon 4 cubes of ice Mix the liquor in a shaker and pour over ice in a tall glass. Top up with Red Bull and add the lemon slice. Page 54

55 OLD FASHIONED - COCKTAIL RECIPE OLD FASHIONED Cocktail Recipe 1 sugar cube Teaspoon angostura bitters Teaspoon water 2 shots bourbon (or brandy) 4 cracked ice cubes Place the sugar cube in a small chilled tumbler. Dash the bitters over the cube and drip the water in. Mash with a spoon until the sugar dissolves. Pour the bourbon (or brandy) into the class and stir well. Add the ice and serve with a lemon twist. 56 ORIGINAL RUM PUNCH RECIPE ORIGINAL RUM PUNCH There are various different takes and recipes for Rum Punch. Its the real deal and the above amounts can vary depending on taste and required effect. This one will give you a satisfying kick without you having to drink too much mixer. If you use milk youll have a white Russian a la The Big Lebowski, which is arguably a much nicer drink. So mix the vodka and Kahlua and pour it over half a highball glass of ice. Stir it all together before topping up with the Cola or Milk. Do not stir again. This way the intensity of the flavour increases as you sip it, which is a very pleasant experience. Page 76
